Kirby Jackson Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I don’t think that the Bills have “missed the window” but they haven’t done nearly enough to increase their chances within the window. They probably have another 6 years(ish) of prime Josh and a couple more years where he’s still a good QB. They are further now though than they were 4 years ago. That’s not ideal. It isn’t over but they don’t seem to be getting closer. They’ve played 1 good 1/2 in 6 games. 3 Quote

The problem is McDermott's window has closed to win as a HC. 2021 was the year and he directly BLEW IT with 13 seconds. Time to move on before we waste Josh's entire career. McDermott may win one or more later on in his career just like Reid did, but Allen will be retired by that time. I also don't think McDermott wins a Super Bowl for the Bills which is why I want a change. Allen still can but a coaching change needs to happen. IMHO 2 Quote

Success Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I think "window" is used too much in sports. It's not as fixed as we make it sound, particularly when you have an elite QB. Quote

If we somehow hit on a couple of draft picks that turned out to be elite pass rushers and pass catchers in the next couple of years, all of a sudden we could be a juggernaut. You just have to strike gold once in awhile (off the top of my head: Chris Jones - 2nd rounder; JJ Watt - 30th pick; Puka Nacua - 5th round, etc.) Things change so quickly in the NFL. Dillenger4 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Too many good QB's and teams coming up now that have caught us. It will be VERY hard to win one now. Our team needs a massive makeover and I don't see it happening. Quote

mjt328 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Yes, we probably missed the window. But not for the reason you stated. The salary cap may have been less of an issue while Josh Allen was on his rookie deal. But he also wasn't the Quarterback back in 2017-2021 that we have with him today. He's improved greatly as a passer over the last several years. The lifeblood of any team is the draft. Not the salary cap. Free agents should be the finishing pieces. Not the foundation. The problem is that we continue to waste picks on guys who fail to move the needle. Now that our cornerstone pieces from those early years (Diggs, Milano, White, Poyer, Hyde) are either gone or on the downside of their careers, Beane can't find decent replacements for them. The roster has gotten worse instead of better. We've been saying for YEARS that Allen wasn't going to play at an MVP level forever. Last night I saw a guy who looked done with carrying a subpar group on his back. Not saying the competitive fire is completely gone, but I really can't blame him if he doesn't want to sacrifice his body anymore with nothing to show for it. Quote
NewEra Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago We definitely missed the window IF Josh continues to play like he did yesterday. Joe Marino’s all 22 vid showed several plays that left me scratching my head. I don’t think that’s going to happen Quote

Unfortunately that would require us to have scouts capable of insight and a knack for finding diamonds in the rough. We don't have those scouts on payroll anymore. We've hit on Walker out of 16 picks. That’s embarrassing... Quote
Buffalo716 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Considering John elway didn't win a Superbowl till his penultimate season Aaron Rodgers and Brett favre gave the Packers 30 years of first bail Hall of Fame quarterbacking and they only have two super bowls to show No sometimes there is a lot of overreaction.. That’s what I posted. Not sure what that has to do with my post. Mahomes played like the 7-10th best QB during the regular season and has the knack of making the big play when he needs too. Whether it’s him, or his coaches. Someone steps up. Our coaches haven’t and they need to. I realize McD has been outclassed by KCs coaches every playoff loss. We don’t have Andy Reid and Spags. And we never will. We can hope McDs replacement is better than him, a good/ very good head coach. Not great imo. As I’ve said, I’m good with getting rid of him at the end of the season if the D gets taken to the woodshed in another season ending loss. I would’ve been fine with replacing him after last years loss. Just know that there’s a decent chance the guy he is replaced with isn’t as good. Quote

Chicken Boo Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago As long as Josh can still run like he does, the window isn't closed. Matt Stafford won a Super Bowl at 34, Elway won his two at ages 37 and 38. Quote
