What I meant was I think there should be more plays that are designed to get the ball into the hands of one person. I don’t want to make a “get Cook in space” joke, I am dead serious. Why not more screens and short passes ? These are just extensions of the run. The Bills have athletic linemen. Instead Brady wants to run Jet Sweeps with Knox.

To be fair Jauron led teams - J.P. Losman (2006), Trent Edwards (2007-2008, 1/2 of 2009), and Ryan Fitzpatrick (starting in late 2009)

I thought that was Brady’s biggest mistake on Sunday- throwing one pass to the RBs.  It just doesn’t make any sense vs that team

Cook didn't touch the ball enough vs. the Pats.  He should be in the passing game on a regular basis.

It worked beautifully against Detroit last year. I think Ray Davis had over 100 yards receiving that game. The Bills biggest strength (obv other than Allen) are the athletic linemen, Tight Ends, and RBs. I would’ve loved to see Ty Johnson and Davis used more in the passing game. With that said, I don’t think the Bills lose if they didn’t uncharacteristically turn the ball over. As much as a change in scheme is needed, protecting the ball is the #1 priority and can’t keep happening.

I will say, right now, at this moment, Kincaid if the most reliable receiving threat we have and this is looking like the promise we saw two years ago

Great vid, thanks. If anyone had any doubts about Kincaid, this dispels them. He ranks near the top of the league in many metrics for all WRs, not just TEs now.

He's great at finding an open space late in in the play and he now has real chemistry with Josh, after that was really lacking last year.

We have a TE approaching elite status, a top-5 back and a very good slot guy. Give us a size-speed outside guy and this offense could be unstoppable. But until then, Kincaid and Cook can and should be the focal points.

Dalton is under a sort of load maintenance.  
 

They view him as a guy at higher risk of injury.

Fair point. I'm not saying McDermott is a bad coach, just that the excellent win percentage people point to as evidence of his prowess is dubious given the quarterback he's been bestowed. It's like saying "Look at all the championships Scottie Pippen won! He's obviously one of the best players of all time."

Dick Jauron won 13 games with Jim Miller and Shane Matthews playing for him.

 

I understand your point but perhaps you want to pick a different guy to make it.

If you look at almost any high win percentage coaches....they almost all had amazing QBs.

I agree. I was thinking about it more today. We should just feed Cook and Kincaid (and Shakir too) as much as possible.  Those are our best players and they need to be touching the ball over and over.  Teams are going to keep Cover 2 shelling us, so work the underneath with these studs until someone shows they can stop you.
