But both players contract could fit under our cap space. I would rule out adding a WR because the last two times Beane has swung that the results have been poor. Woolen is interesting as Rasul had success being traded here mid year. But with Gairston being a first round pick and Benford extended I don’t think they would trade a good pick for someone who would theoretically be a backup. Shaheed is another popular name. Again should fit well under our cap. He is a true deep threat who lines up outside over 60% of snaps. The reason he may truly be realistic is his return skills which would allow us to cut Coddrington. Shakirs punt catching in the New England game lent to some poor field position early. Beane’s trade for Nyheim Hines was successful as a returner coming mid season so he may be interested in making a similar move. However, it is likely a one year rental as Shaheed will get paid this offseason and it may be in the Jameson Williams ballpark. Not sure Beane would give up say a third rounder to bring him in. Though theoretically you would recoup some of that as a comp pick if Shaheed gets a decent future contract. There may be other players that could be moved, but these are the three biggest ones I can think of. Any GM that thinks like this needs to get out of the business lol my goodness, no offense, but that's such a weak take within your reasoning. Von Miller got hurt, so we can never bring in an established FA Def. End! Diggs was a jerk (after 3 all pro quality seasons), Amari Cooper was mentally already retired. Zack Wilson busted for the Jets, now they cant draft QB's..... oh wait, maybe you're right cause they signed a FA RB to play QB 🤣🤣🤣 Quote

I don’t think Beane would have a problem making a trade for a WR in the offseason, but mid season I don’t think he will since it hasn’t worked twice now Quote

The problem with trading for a CB like him is we just drafted one with our 1st rounder and just paid Benford. Any team that trades for him will need to sign him to a long term deal. I'd prefer to just let the defense resolve itself. Oliver will be back, Ogunjobi and Hoecht will be back, Hairston hopefully will be ready for the stretch run if nothing else. The WR room on the other hand has no reinforcements coming. What we have is what we're stuck with and it simply isn't good enough to win a championship with. They already fumbled DK Metcalf. They need to rectify it. Not a role player, a legit #1 caliber WR that can play outside. Olave should be the target, even if it costs a 1st you just have to go for it at this point. Quote
Low Positive Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If you want to get someone off the scrap heap, Jermaine Burton has to be available. But he can't make practice on time even while living next to the stadium. 1 minute ago, HappyDays said: The problem with trading for a CB like him is we just drafted one with our 1st rounder and just paid Benford. Yeah it is a legit concern but we don't have the benefit of being picky. We lost that benefit when we let DK Metcalf get away. Or even Jerry Jeudy who right now would be the best WR on our team. We'd have Olave through 2026 before we would need to extend him so you'd just let it play out and hope you win a Super Bowl one of those two years, and if that happens then the rest doesn't matter. Bruffalo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I don’t see how the Bills would trade for a CB. The only way it makes sense is if Hairston is out for the season. Olave makes a lot of sense to me. Quote

Really, really liked him coming out... Quote
Low Positive Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Remember, the Bills are not the only team looking to add. The Pats are winning, have a lot of tradable assets and mountains of cap space. Quote
thenorthremembers Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I am calling the Saints this week and seeing where they are on Olave. I'd be more than happy to offer a 2nd and 3rd for Olave and a 5th to have him in a Buffalo by the 15th and in a Bills uniform for the game on the 26th. Edited 1 hour ago by thenorthremembers 1 Quote

Instant massive upgrade, where we need it the most. Quote

I think it makes sense for both teams. The Saints have him for the rest of this year, and all of next on the 5th year option. They are already 14 million over the cap for next season. They get cap space and draft picks. We get a borderline #1 WR. Thay said, its likely just a pipe dream. 1 Quote
Buffalo03 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago What do you all think of getting Olave from the Saints? Still a very cheap rookie deal and spotrac has his fifth year option next year at $15 million. Seems like it could be doable Quote

It’s a tacit admission he was a complete moron in the offseason going on WGR and he’s gotta save face for Terry. 2 Quote
