Please God get a wideout who has speed and can run a full route tree.  I dont even care if he's a good blocker.

Shaheed would have been a great option to fit that request. After his outing against the Giants I can’t see them getting rid of him. Great building block to allow Olave and Cooks to work underneath.

We aren’t getting a corner with Hairston and Strong.  Strong I think will be back later in the year.

I would rather get a Safety anyway. But Hairston has not even played an NFL preseason game. Who knows when he is healthy and what he will bring. So I would not be against if someone is available. We need multiple bodies in the secondary.

DJ Moore please, he’s struggling to get chemistry with Williams but he’s a class act and would work well with Josh. No idea how we pay for him, let the bean counters figure it out

That’s not bad you know, give Odunze lighting it up and Burden showing over the top ability, they might be willing to part ways with him. Only problem there is the amount of money he will require; believe he’s top 10 in salary.

When we trade for a WR, does Beane go back on WGR for round 2?

I am sure he will to defend himself. I mean but who in their right mind could predict:

Coleman - Would be what his scouting report said and that he lacks speed and separation ability.

Palmer - An average NFL WR would just be an average NFL WR and not a game changer.

Moore - See Palmer

Samuel - See Moore and Palmer

Well, see, we couldn't afford Metcalf, but Palmer, Moore and Samuel all cost more than Metcalf.  Go figure.

Kind of a duh one here--the Bills must, must, must get  2 capable cornerbacks as the cupboard is bare, and just as bare whether they do the right thing and cut White this week or keep him as either way they do not have a cornerback who can play the position consistently.

True in the summer, true now--the Bills are  in jeopardy of blowing this season, not giving themselves more than a tiny chance of winning it all, with White as cb.  And they need depth behind Hairston/in front of him until he returns and after.

Not  a Beane basher, but maybe about to be if he does not fix this.

I wish they looked at Pickens, cheap contract and didn't cost a lot.

I honestly didnt think White would even make the team let alone a guy getting 80%+ of the snaps.

I'd put LB ahead of WR. Allen can make most of our WR look pretty good. He can't keep LBs from missing tackles and getting injured.

Our defense is a joke. At this point we're going to have to out score teams the rest of the season. I'd love trading for Olave. Even if Oliver, Hairston and Hoecht return,  I don't trust our scheme, players or their ability to stay healthy.  Tre, Milano and Rapp must be replaced immediately.

Bills major glaring weaknesses..

Defensive Line.  That said, we have potential growth from rookies, Oliver comes back and we get Hoecht and Ogunjobi off suspension post-bye.

CB2. Strong may have a serious injury.  Tre White simply CANNOT be CB2 on a Super Bowl contending team.  Ja’Marcus Ingram is our only depth.  As an aside, Benford has not had a good start to the season.   Hairston comes back, maybe, but what will he be?

WR. Same issues as always.  Lack of separation and inability to create explosives at outside WR. A team like the Pats are perfectly constructed to exploit that with a strong run defense and two stud corners.  We saw the result…just like we saw the result last year against Houston.

Linebacker.  Milano cannot be relied upon.  To the point where it’s almost a disservice to the team to keep trying to play him.   We’re left with Bernard, Thompson and not much else that’s playable on all 3 downs.

Quite a few glaring holes for a team that’s contending for a Super Bowl.  Luckily, the AFC is full of teams with holes, but ours seem to be recurring themes that surface here and there throughout the season and ultimately doom us against KC.

How many moves are you looking to make at GM and how “all in” are you willing to go?  Would you be willing to move productive players like a Knox (very unlikely) or Van Demark as player for player swaps?  What type of pick would you give up for a positional upgrade.

For me, I’m willing to give up a 2nd or 3rd for a multi-year WR.  It has to be addressed if possible and in a meaningful way.  Josh Allen turning the ball over, smacking his head on the field and getting up wincing on another play last night is a direct reflection of this issue.

DL is stand pat and hope the Calvary solves it.

I’d be throwing around Day 3 picks for LB and CB.  I get it.. not ideal.  But this team is going NOWHERE with Tre at CB2.

In order of importance…

CB2 - WR - LB - DL

Id be on the phones making sure CB2 and WR are addressed if I’m Beane and I’m willing to part with a Day 2 and Day 3 pick to make sure that happens in a meaningful way.

I'd go with

CB2 - LB - WR - DL

At least too for CB, they have Hairston coming back hopefully soon.  I think once he's active I'd start him, likely take some lumps early, but hopefully by January he's figured things out.  So may even put LB #1, Is Edmunds available??   :)

The deep throw people aren't all wrong, though I do see our defense as the main problem, again.   But on first things first they did show a interesting stat on Josh and the deep ball this year.

From 20-24 he had 4.3 deep attempts a game, with 41 TDs and 22 Ints and a passer rating of 97.9.  So far in 25 hes averaging 3 deep attempts a game with 0 tds and 1 int and a passer rating of 49.9.

Just some food for thought I found interesting.

I'm starting to think we should blow our wads on a true WR1........our D is and always has been unreliable, we've spent draft after draft trying to compensate for our dismal D to no avail and if McD is such a D guru, then fix the ****ing thing already.

At least with a WR1, we should be looking at scoring 30-40 points a game and just be going full throttle on O and letting teams try to play catch-up cause our D ain't getting it done.

Might as well focus 100% on our O

Anybody who is a specialist for a living can tell you this.  If you have something you know you're good at... you will almost always do better investing resources (your time in this example) into something you already do well, than something you don't.  Surgeons dont go pick up Ear, Nose, Throat Degrees... they niche down to heart surgeons or whatever.

Investing in a Josh Allen offense, especially when their are deficiencies, is the way to go.  I trust Josh, Josh knows what to do with them as hes shown.

Investing in McD defense/Babich defense is a complete question mark.  We've poured into that side of the ball with no results.  Do we need to allocate every resources into the defense to MAYBE find out that it works? Its already cost too much.  Chasing sunken costs.

OR

Spend a top notch resource, one freaking time, to see how much it pays off.  You know it will pay out.  Will it payout huge-ly, or just the appropriate amount?  It kinda doesnt matter which.  Its a known quantity.

Until we show that we know how to turn a profit on defensive side of the ball, I'm not comfortable investing anything over there!

I would offer a 1st round picks and Beane's right lung to the Jets for Garret Wilson

I would add McDermott’s right and left lung to that offer

we have arguably the reigning MVP - one of the top 3-5 QB's in the league, yet our total WR room costs less than Jamarr Chase's salary this year.

Addison is more well rounded guy, with untapped potential.  Hes ~$2.5M against cap this year prorated, as of today. We had interest in him the Kincaid year.  They cant afford to pay another WR.  2 years cost controlled left.  Season imploding.  They were possibly shopping him last year.  They gave solid resources to get Thielen back (LOL), they may be looking to recoup some of that and more for next year.  Apparently they've spent the most cash of any team on 2025 season.

They may not be ready to deal, but I think they willl be.  He should be target 1.1.  It's so perfect.  I'd absolutely be willing to give a 1st + something more reasonable

Trades within the division for a player of Wilson's caliber rarely happen. I am sure the Jets would love getting torched by Wilson twice a year which is exactly what would happen with Allen as his QB.
