Reading the post you quoted made me wonder how much the Dolphins decided to win by.

I can’t determine if our defense was so terrible that we gave up yards everywhere- a whole 276 yards.  Or if our Offense was garbage because they were so conservative and out of sorts and could only muster 360 yards and 31 points.

I mean the same people are arguing both sides as if the numbers were swapped.  We out gained then by 100 yards and out scored them by 10 and created the only turn over in the game, but in multiple threads people are acting like we gave up 400 yards and only mustered 200.

It is just insane.

  1. Groot- He had a solid game setting the edge against the Jets but looked invisible

Rousseau- I know he’s French but ai didn’t expect him to surrender so fast.

Strongly disagree with all of you. I had the same feeling after game, but after watching All-22 I'd say he was one of the best players on the field. He lost contain once, but other than that, he set the edge as usual. And as a pass rusher he was visible a lot, he had 3-4 big pressures, that either led to Tua throwing it away, or Tua made a big play last second play to Waddle/Hill.

Fair enough, I am just going by my eye test, Groot looked OK against the run and not much of a factor in the pass rush. All 22 and more detailed analysis could prove me wrong.

Up

Hawes - an amazing upgrade on the third TE position as a blocker and catcher

Kincaid - he's showing signs of becoming what we hoped him to be

Walker - what a steal in the fifth; he's looking like he belongs

Down

Codrington - need more impact and lucky not to fumble the ball back to the Fins

Davis - really hasn't grown on last year's reasonable performance. Is he injured?

White - That third down...

Incredibly disappointed in Rousseau (not worthy of a nickname), AJE and ST.  Tre has to play 5-7 yards off because he's old as Methuselah.  Love what Joey brings but this pass rush is still ass.

Disagree on pass rush. I just finished defensive All-22. They didn't suck. They created a lot of pressure, but Tua either threw it too quickly to matter or he scrambled and Hill/Waddle made plays.

Strongly disagree on Sanders. He was good to very good. He made some pressures, and he was double teamed almost every snap. Granted, he is not Ed Oliver, but he played well for a rookie. It just wasn't that easy to see live.

Agree on Tre. That missed sack on 3&12 was brutal and changed the flow of the game. Should've been third punt in a row for the Dolphins and chance for double dip for the Bills, and instead of that Dolphins had a lengthy drive and tied the game.

Other notes - to me Daquan Jones was really good and created lot of pressure. Groot was MUCH better than people give him credit for. He set the edge as always and created at least 3 big pressures, and it's not his fault that Tua/Waddle/Hills made plays. Even AJE had some plays, whole dline just didn't finish. As for others, everyone seemed to have good moments and bad ones. For example Thompson was mostly good and gets a lot of praise here, but he badly missed a tackle for loss which lead to 16y Gordon run (on Dolphins 2nd half TD drive).

Had White finished his sack, it'd become a blowout.

TJ Sanders is the lowest defensive tackle at his position.  I don’t think he played a very good game.

Also, Tua’s time in the pocket before a throw was 2.74 seconds.  His most since last season.

right… it has nothing to do with McDermott’s scheme.  He plays that far off because he has to

up-

Cook

Kincaid

Walker

down-

Rousseau

DTs other than Walker

Ray Davis- just because James and cook are so much better

Oliver?  He was beast in the game he played.  Him and Bosa looked like a good combo

Also those hard on White.  He has been in great position except for that crosser last game.  He has never been a speed guy and he has been through a few major surgeries but he is a very smart player.  He isn't what he used to be but certainly I would take him over many others in the league.

Who were your top 3 players that made a major impact in the victory and your 3 major disappointments....  (for me I am not going to include Allen... because.. well just because)

Up

Cook - dominant performance, allowed us to balance the attack and control the clock, inches away from breaking a couple

Hawes - outside of the one play he got blown up by the Tackle was a pit bull blocking, caught the ball when he needed two, and enabled the 3 TE set we ran

Bernard - yes yes interception, but the rest of his game was great too couple big tackles and was a general menace

Down

Groot - complete invisibility, limited production, to date not earning his contract... hope he shakes whatever off...

Keon -  c'mon man you gotta stop dropping footballs in critical situations...  some nice catches... but too much left on the table for a guy who we need as a true 1

Whoever is responsible for our tacking - giving up the amount of 3rd and longs we did is really not sustainable if we are ever to go 20- 0 lol... just do better...

I don’t like the drops but he did have a couple nice grabs as well. I don’t think he’ll ever be a true #1 because he can’t separate. He’s more Higgins or a modern day Plaxico and that’s fine but I do like the fight in him this year. Never gives up on a play, always trying to get to the ball for Josh. Not sure he’ll ever be great but I’m happy with what he is. Palmer on the other hand has been the overrated underwhelming guy he’s always been thus far. Big contracts for free agent WRs (Samuel and Palmer) is Beanes Achilles. Maybe start drafting more cheap guys instead 🤔

Up: Kincaid, Walker, Moore

Down: White, Rousseau, Palmer

Palmer, coming off a nice game, was held to 1 catch for 5 yards. White got burned a couple of times. Rousseau hasn't made any impact plays.

Kincaid continued his strong season, looking like a real threat and mismatch. Walker continues to look disruptive and just seems to always make an impact. Moore was our only consistent receiving threat. He has been awesome.
