This game was close. The Fins were a penalty away from having the ball (granted on their own 1) tied with about 7.5 minutes left in the game. They were also down 7 with the ball on the Bills 20.

 

I thought with one miscue the Bills could lose this game. Credit to McD that this team is learning not to make mistakes and playing crisp clean games for the most part

The punt was downed on the 2.  They would have had to go 98 yards.

He's going to have probably career low regular season numbers and watch it come out in a super bowl

throwing a few 20 yard passes to wide receivers isn’t super man. In fact, giving him a wr who can do that without him having to act like super man is the entire point of the thread.

I would like to see a few more games before saying the Bills have a passing game issue. I think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. But these Thursday games aren’t great barometers for how teams actually are because teams shouldn’t be playing on Thursday’s after playing Sundays

That's a concern for me.

He struggled hauling some of those in last year and he doesn't seem to be securing them at a particularly high rate so far this year.

It should get better as he gets better, but I'm worried that it also should have gotten a little better already.

got it. So the argument is in the 4th quarter after losing our lead against a team in the division/conference (all those tie breakers count extra) that we were strategically punting back to them for lack any real pressure - not that it was a case of our offense struggling to get anything more than 5 yards down field, but simply complimentary football still 

 

hopefully when we need the play later down the road- or maybe several of those plays - they are in fact readily available

At times it was brilliant.  At other times not so much.  I thought the Dolphins called a pretty strong game both offensively and defensively.  Tua did Buffalo a huge favor when he failed to see Bernard rushing in to jump the pass.

it may be some confirmation bias that what we saw tonight matched the pre baked worry about the group…. But may not be the norm.

Yeah I think they have a passing game problem and it is on Joe Brady. Not because he isn’t creative enough or they can’t do it, but because Joe likes to run the ball too much.

 

I think if they would throw the ball more they would score more points than they do. It’s annoying to an extent because it makes Allen look like he isn’t capable of getting more yards. 
 

Can’t complain because the Bills win and are scoring 30 points every game but because of Brady , Allen’s passing numbers are going to look ***** again this year like last year. Throwing for only 3,800 yards doesn’t look good. 

Makes him look like he is a middle of the pack QB which sucks but it is what it is. As long as they win I guess.

You're too spoiled by dominant performances. This was a good, normal win. There are ebbs and flows in every game.

No.  Josh had an on again, off again game.  The O showed flashes, and then too many "not good enough".

They got work to do.  But I do think (from the 52-yard initial KO return) the Bills had a little too much, we should win this game easily mentality.

It happens.

I think a disconnect between how some

view the offense vs others is based off some viewing the game for who we played while other seeing trends that have been present and hurt us in big spots. 
 

Bills Offense looked bla tonight but still scored 31.  A lot of people will correctly point that out.  
 

Others will see Allen constantly checking it down after looking down field and surmise that he still doesnt have guys winning downfield.   Thats been an issue in our elimination games.  
 

So we worry that it will be again .. hopefully not, hopefully there is no elimination game this year.

TBF, he has had some clutch catches this year and also drew a big PI call IIRC.

I don't mean at all to downplay the improvements he's made; they have been significant and I respect the hell out of the work he's putting in.

I think many of us think Miami is a very bad team though. Not the playoff fins we have at times battled but a true talent lacking squad that has active internal conflict on top of it. 
 

in a special season there will be a few of those that aren’t pretty but you take the win….  But that the gap on the field matched the forecasted gap on paper is what stands out. 
 

josh airmails a couple passes and nobody blinks about the long term because sometimes you just don’t hit everything. Josh stands patting the ball because he can’t find anyone open and that gives pause about the bigger story.

No. Allen has 700+ yards, 5-0 ratio, moves the ball as if easier than pie right now. I've felt more confident watching this offense than I've ever been in the Allen era. No issues whatsoever.

We have depth and Beane has that whole Jeremy White dust up.  Also we traded for one last year and it was meh. 
 

So we have to hope Keon can learn to do the one thing he can do man up, which is win with physicality.  Failed to do that again today on his one outside target.  
 

I do know a Spags Defense will key on the fact we only successfully throw inside the numbers down the field to slots, tight ends and running backs or around the LOS. 

I want Keon to succeed as much as anyone, but he's just is so damn slow and his physicality is inconsistent.  Can we continue to win with five WR3's?...yes, but eventually you're going to need 1 guy to stretch the field.  We did a lot of dink n dunk tonight.
