Hope everyone enjoying college ball/Labor Day weekend!

With week 1 of the NFL season set to kick off in 4 days, Im putting out a "prediction" thread that I will revisit at end of year to post results on which posters deserve to be "Vegas insiders".

Categories:

1. Team predicitons: Division Winners/wild card teams, Conference championships, and Super Bowl

2. Bills off / def team rankings: from a scoring perspective, not yardage/etc

NFC:

East: Eagles 13-4

North: Packers 12-5

South: Bucs 10-7

West: 49ers 11-6

Wild Card: Commanders (11-6), Lions (12-5, lose tie breaker to Pack for division)

AFC:

East: Bills 12-5

North: Ravens 13-4

South: Texans 11-6

West: Broncos 11-6

Wild card: Chiefs 11-6 (lose tie breaker to Broncos), Steelers 10-7

NFC playoffs: 49ers vs Packers in championship, 49ers win NFC

AFC playoffs: Bills vs Chiefs (this time in Buffalo), Bills win by a FG as Bass hits from 50 as time expires

Super Bowl: Bills vs 49ers (Berman special).  Bills 33 49ers 30

Bills team rankings (scoring):

Offense : 2nd

Defense: 7th

Have at it, something fun to kill some time before Week 1

The realist in me says the Bills go 12-5.

Then the optimist takes over and says we go on a run that leads to a Lombardi and the wildest victory parade the league has ever seen!

24-0 or something. I don't math well and forget how it works with the extra single game.

The Debby Downer in me sees this team going 9-8 or 10-7.  We have sh$t injury luck yet again and the “defense” gives up a league record 46.1 ppg.

That is 13 ppg worse that the worst defense (1981 Baltimore Colts) since the merger.

I think the Ravens kind of have it all this year so I'll bet on Lamar finally flipping the script on his playoff failures.

Bills 12-5, AFCE division winner.

I see a lot of love for the Jags, but I don’t see it. The Texans are still more talented than them IMO. So I think the Texans, Chiefs and Ravens are the likely other AFC division winners.

Playoffs.... toss of a coin. I hope and believe the AFCCG can be in Buffalo.

Jags? Wow that's a bold prediction.

Yea I am a Liam Cohen believer and I think that Texans oline sucks. If Lawrence can just play okay with BTJ and Hunter they have a chance.

Not sure I'm totally on board because of their lack of playoff success. I do think they got better and their roster is the best in the NFL. I think they are the team to beat in the AFC followed by KC and then Buffalo. I think the weak AFC East division paved a nice seed for Buffalo.

Two major questions are can either Buffalo or Baltimore get past the mighty Chiefs?

The weak division certainly gives them a fighters chance.

That would be worst case scenario. My biggest question and concern is the Bills defense. They will need to be able to create turnovers. A McD has consistently done this. At some point regression seems logical but I think the trend continues. Of course, a lot rides on the health of the players and the younger players development. Let's see how things play out.

They will go better than 4-4 and better than 7-2 IMO.

13-4 and the 1 or 2 seed.
