The fact that the writer's suggestion didn't happen tells us all we need to know about White's trade value.

I've been following him since his day at Texas. He alwasy did more than you thought he would. Will be good in the QB room.

May be worth mentioning Shane will also be released, pretty sure QB3 is a PS position.

There's tons of players who will be released this time of year that one reporter or another thinks has trade value that doesn't. Or thinks that if they're released, there's no chance they'll clear Waivers, when they absolutely will.

I’m glad he was released and hope to never see him in a Bills uniform again. He’s a good man, i just don’t like him as an NFL QB.

I will forever remember him only as the guy who got absolutely ragdolled by Milano on one of the most vicious hits I've ever seen. Can't recover from that.

By most accounts White had shown better in camp than Trubisky, but in games it was a wash at best. If he was going to take Trubisky’s job, he had to clearly out play him and although it was a bit unfair he never got time with the 1st string OL (as Mitch did in game 1), White still missed on plays that were there to be made. Can’t do that if you’re trying to take the incumbent’s job. Gotta hit on those passes.

True, but I was referring to his image as an NFL QB. Can't recover from that debacle.

Maybe Shane gets through and back to the PS?  Who knows.  But he prob wants a shot to be QB2 somewhere.  Not sure it's in the cards.

 

I'm not a big Trubisky fan but agree that keeping him as the backup is the smart move.  He's been there and done it, and could prob lead them to a close win in a pinch depending on opponent.

Had some hope that the guy could be better than Trubisky but that 2nd preseason game ended that idea. Pretty damning when you cannot outduel Trubisky for the backup.
