Raiders beat Baltimore after the KC loss to open the year last year. THAT was motivation. They left in all on the line the week prior and just showed up week 2. While this is week one, I feel that Allen being the MVP, Jackson losing again in the playoffs, and the playoff loss all are things that will give Baltimore a little chip. It's not as if Buffalo won't be ready to play. But a little chip can matter. We had it in the playoff game, they had it in the first match up. It's not something that can happen naturally. It happens when you don't get talked about all week but your opponent does. When you have had months to hear about how you failed. All that stuff. It can be overplayed a little, but it is a thing.

Lamar's turnovers are the main reason we won. If he played a clean game we probably don't win. So I would say Lamar was probably MOST of the issue that day. Eventually he couldn't overcome himself, he certainly tried.

I think a lot of fans are misguided with how many of these athletes may care. This is their job and while they strive to be the best and are premier athletes many do not care enough to hold this grudge or do anything more than show up to work and put the effort in no different than you or I when we run a costing analysis report.

Beyond that, Jackson is a tremendous athlete but i, personally, don't see him as the most mentally intelligent/strong guy. His 2024 season was maybe his best. He saw the field better than he ever had and made better decisions than ever before. But that offense is tailored to fit him, has Henry there to mitigate the errors and burden on Jackson. He has the chance to win a super bowl with the talent he has. He did last year. He does this year.

I think between him and Harbaugh they'll fall short unless the defense can take them home.

That'll be a tall task with Burrough, Allen, Mahomes, and whoever else creeps up this year in the NFL. Maybe Stroud.

QB1 outplayed QB2 despite QB1 having better stats for yards, completions, touchdowns, run yards he lost... He also had more ints and fumbles but he is definitely better than QB2.

His argument was like one of the neighborhood kids trying to tell me how Jackson is better than Allen. It's hilarious.

experienced Poyer for this game?

Tell him to take less aggressive angles. Poor Pro Po has angle issues. He’s an insurance policy for week 14

I hope half the D isn’t out after game #1. Ravens tend to beat the pulp out of mini secondary

Besides the interception that he threw, there was this:

Outplayed is not an accurate characterization.

Keon would have scored on that return..........

Maybe 😆

You do know he out played Josh in both games last season?  You also know he led a game tying TD drive without both his top 2 wr?  The fact remains that he'll be their on Sunday with both his top 2 wrs.

No excuses you guts beat the Ravens in the platoffs, but a blind man could see that Lamar was the least of the issues.

Least of the issues

…but still an issue.  He turned it over twice, one time in FG range, that we ran back into scoring position for us.

That against an absolute trash Bills Defense last year that’s only hope to stop anyone was to force turnovers.

I notice ravens fans seem to be the most obnoxious people I see comment on youtube videos.  Like they take the Lamar not getting mvp as a personal insult.

I'm sorry your favorite millionaire did not get another trophy.

That dude is off his rocker. But agree to disagree on athletes disposition. Yes, they have a job and its to be ready. But sometimes it's closer to home and you can see that intensity when that's the case. Eventually it does wear off, but in a game of inches even a little can be a lot. I thought I saw that next level intensity from the Bills defensive line last year in the Ravens playoff game.

If you look at Allen’s stats vs the Ravens he has never been that great in those games to be honest. Would be nice if he has a great game against them for once. Even though they are 3-3. Jackson hasn’t played much better.

Even with the TOs.  Lamar had Highmark Stadium quiet.  The TOs were big but he came back and had them within  a drop of tying the game.  Had the Ravens as a whole played a semi clean game it would have been the same result as the 1st game.  You guys didn't have an answer for him for 8 qtrs. The wr ran tuebqrong route on the int and tue center had a bad snap on the fumble.  Those are the only 2 plays in 8 qtrs that the Bills even slowed Lamar.

Let’s say that is true. So now your hero has given us two divisional round playoff wins with his horrible decisions and failed play making. We haven’t won all of our playoff games, but I can’t recall a single one where I could say Josh Allen lost it for us.

Has Josh turned the ball over in the playoffs?  Josh had 2 ints against the mighty Skylar Thompson led Dolphins that nearly cost you guys the game.  Then he had 2 more  TOs when they needed to beat the Dolphins to get in the playoffs and the defense bailed him out.

I think Milano healthy is an underrated advantage for this defense. We have been watching underwhelming backups to this point in the preseason and a lot of people have forgotten how good this defense is when he's on the field. Also, Benford is better than we imagined and Williams is an "up and comer". The defensive line has got some new juice too. People are pretty worried about the Ravens running all over us but that scenario is not likely how this is going to play out. The big men on defense are healthy. Jackson is going to have to pass to win this game while we are weak at the defensive back positions. However, if the big men can disrupt Lamar, he'll get frustrated and make mistakes. Mistakes like trying to take off with Milano in pursuit, or throwing up air-balls for our defenders to intercept. The way I see it, it's a tall tall order trying to beat the Bill's in their house on opening weekend, in prime time.

The Bills have had some slow starts and I think they are well aware of that. The coach has all ready reprimanded players for coming out flat and not playing with fire in the preseason. I'm expecting the Bills to be shot out of a cannon, strait at the bewildered Ravens in this one. I'm expecting the 12th man to be a factor. I'm expecting the negative Nancy's to eat some crow and like it. My expectation is to read the headline the next day "Are the Ravens Overrated?". Time to change the narrative.

Go Bills!

I agree, at least early this season we must keep Milano, Bedford and Bernard healthy. It could be several more weeks before Max is ready so CB2 will be a revolving door. McD does have a knack of baiting Lamar into staying in the pocket and launch some wayward throws.  Stop the run (Henry) early and set the bait.

The biggest difference in these stats?  One of them got to play the Bills defense with overall more talented weapons and the other one had to play the Ravens defense carrying his squad on his back.

This is only a half truth and pretty disingenuous. You can't just dismiss the turnovers or say what ifs. They happened and the Bills capitalized on them. Fact is they didn't play a clean game. This game was nothing like the first meeting where Baltimore blew out the Bills. Stop with your nonsense.

Yes, the Ravens offense and Lamar were handling the Bills defense. However, that doesn't equate to the same outcome this year. Let's see how things play out.

Personally, I think the Ravens have the best roster in the league. In the playoffs, the Ravens lost a home game to KC and last year's loss to Buffalo. I'd argue with confidence the Ravens were the better team in both of those playoff losses.

What's fairly accurate is neither team has gotten it done come playoff time. Arguably both teams had rosters capable of making it to the Super Bowl. Allen has been nothing short of spectacular in his playoff appearances. Lamar has not! I hope both QBs have rings when their careers expire.

A few thoughts about this game.

Ravens:

  1. This is probably the most talented Ravens team since Jackson has been QB. The only question mark is the new kicker.
  2. Jackson will be highly motivated to make amends after last year's playoff loss.

Bills:

  1. Home field advantage helps, and the Bills O will need it against this D.
  2. I'm sure Phillips will be elevated for this game, so there aren't two rookie in the second DL wave.
  3. The Bills' secondary is the big question mark in this game. Would they also elevate the experienced Poyer for this game?

I see another dogfight coming down to the last few minutes.  Whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins.

Poyer doesn't come in unless Rapp or Bishop are injured.   You have to let Bishop play and take his lumps.   We need to look at the big picture of winning the SB.  Anyways, the cornerback position is a lot more tenuous and with heavy question marks including Benford who appears to have something (bad) going for him

Stop with your cherry picking.

Maybe you should go and watch the replay of the 13 second game. That should tell you all you need to know about Josh Allen. They guy is special.

Josh was rubbish for the majority of that Dolphins playoff game, and had we lost it then it would totally have been on him. The Dolphins had 1 drive over 30 yards all game until garbage time. But he did lead two big touchdown drives in the 3rd Quarter that were basically all him without which the Bills don't win. So he got himself out of the hole he had dug himself into.

It is by far his worst playoff performance.
