Was he supposed to pretend he’s just one of the brokies, just a dude struggling to get by ? and for how long was he supposed to maintain this charade ?

A yacht ? billionaire being a billionaire, he’s also given the Bills the green light with the cheque book and I’m appreciative of that.

The yacht sucks. Can't even fish off of it, it's too big!

that's what the dinghy is for

the sad reality is the life expectancy of new stadiums in the league is only 20-30 years.

so we very well could be facing this discussion against really quick.

The thing that is “not a good look” is the judgmental look cast in the direction of others, with commentary.   I’m wearing Cole Haan deck shoes.   They cost about $110.

Mostly because if I was

going to take $250m from the county containing the poorest city in America it’s not something I would do.  I don’t blame the state and county for paying for the stadium.  I would have done the same.  I also think it’s a bad look to take those funds and spend $100m on a friggin stupid opulent boat.  It’s not something I would have done.  You have your opinion, I have mine.  It is what it is.  On to the next issue.

He invested 1.2 billion in the stadium, but some of you have an issue with him spending his own money on something he wants? Christ people...

wealthy people using the public to make themselves rich or not have to pay for the infrastructure to do the same.   what a surprise.  sucks,  is what it is.  its all about leverage.  this "public" stadium,  that is really going to out price the general public when it comes to tickets etc,  is going to look real nice in 10 years when JA17 isnt playing anymore and we're back to being a place no free agent wants to come because we dont have a QB that can play.  this is the issue i had with the taxpayers having to build this for Terry.

Looks and reads like a hatchet job. Pegula and the NFL still covered 60%+ of the stadium cost. The state share is now at 38% and most of that was money that came from the Seneca owned casinos.

"Some people are angry"

Then find a tweet of one person who's angry.

That's what news these days.

Ralph Wilson bought a 66 Chevy Impala convertible and nobody said a word...

After Ralph died his estate put a mid 60s Chrysler convertible up for sale. I think he bought it for Mary.

I disagree.  It's a terrible look.  I support the stadium monies--as a community, we had to do it.  But this looks awful, and tone deaf.

How much should NY contribute?

Envy may be one of the worst sins.  After all Pegula has done for Buffalo it's beyond petty to carp about his freaking boat.

Some folks need to play a little "It's a Wonderful life" mind game and consider what Buffalo would be like today if Pegula never bought the Bills & Sabres?  Would either team still be in the city?  Would there be any development on the waterfront?

I think you need to rewatch that film. Peguala is no George Bailey, he's Mr. Potter.

If it was red than that's probably the car.

Tell that to my tenants who are scraping by and could use a slice of that $600m.

Look, I would have voted for the stadium monies, too.  I get why Terry asked, and I get why the state paid.  It’s still not a good look to get $600m in tax monies and then build a $100m boat.  We agree to disagree.

He is not “getting” $600m. The state is kicking in to keep the bills here.
Let me ask … How much is this worth to you? Be able to be a fan, watch, yak on TBD, think about the Bills, talk Bills all the time, have parties around the Bills, tailgate, prepare meals and get togethers around the Bills, watch Bills highlights on your device, step a little higher because we have an mvp….whats that worth to you? To the community? To the state? It’s freaking priceless to be in that club…I would say Nys got the deal of the century.

Well I'm thinking that given what Terry has spent first off buying the team which was $1.4 Billion & now another $1.25 Billion due to overages on the new stadium, then $189 Million to purchase the Sabres then if you take into consideration that the cap for the Bills is $279 Million per year and he is on the hook to pay Josh, Dion, Benford, Groot, Cook, Shakir, Bernard, Brown, Oliver, Millano, in the future and how ever many others that they have signed to extensions with all adds up .

Oh don't forget the Coaches & Front office personal of the Bills and Sabres both + Sabres salary cap per year is around $95.5 Million . Insurance for all those employees & the taxes they pay in each year .

Not to mention by securing the new stadium for how ever many years by keeping the team in B/lo the amount of revenue that will bring in plus they have to pay rent on the new stadium while there .

I'd say he deserves to have a toy even though it is something that is outrageously large and none of us can imagine ever owning something like that .

His investments far out weighs what the taxes that will be invested in the stadium and team over all but I get that there are those that will complain no matter what because of jealousy or what ever else that gets them jacked up ...

The yacht was purchased and delivered in 2021. The funding for the stadium was signed in 2022. The Fox article makes it sound like yacht was purchased after the stadium finances was secured with state help. The original article in the NY post clearly states the boat was purchased and delivered in 2021.

Btw. It’s a HUGE advantage to have a ultra rich owner. Guaranteed $ have to be put in escrow…so owner gotta write that check right then. That’s why bills are in good shape and the bengals are always scrambling
