GASabresIUFan Posted Friday at 04:23 PM Posted Friday at 04:23 PM (edited) Every year there seems to be a little known player or 2 (usually a UDFA or a camp invitee) who make the team or have a great camp and make their way on to the PS. Last year it was Buffalo Joe and Shavers. Admittedly, I haven’t focused on the camp news, but it seems two WRs have impressed (Wilkerson & Gosnell). Anyone else? SoMAn Posted Friday at 04:27 PM Posted Friday at 04:27 PM (edited) C Jacob Bayer (61) and OT Chase Lundt (77) are two candidates for that designation. Will be watching them tomorrow. Kristian Wilkerson (82), possible practice squad/developmental player addition Edited Friday at 05:11 PM by SoMAn 1 1 Quote
Rubes Posted Friday at 04:33 PM Posted Friday at 04:33 PM Yeah, I'd consider both Bayer and Gosnell. Long shots, but with the injuries they both have a shot at the PS. Quote
MPL Posted Friday at 04:43 PM Posted Friday at 04:43 PM Isn't Buffalo Joe still Buffalo Joe, though? 2 1 Quote
skibum Posted Friday at 05:24 PM Posted Friday at 05:24 PM (edited) Did Wande Owens show anything in training camp? I can't say I've seen his name mentioned anywhere since camp started. He would have gotten my pre-camp vote, and I guess I'll let it ride because I don't know much about how any other UDFA/invitees performed. Edited Friday at 05:24 PM by skibum Quote
Ben Posted Friday at 05:27 PM Posted Friday at 05:27 PM I saw a lot i liked from Jackson hawes 1 Quote
LEBills Posted Friday at 05:29 PM Posted Friday at 05:29 PM (edited) I read somewhere that Keonte Jenkins was running ahead of Ulofoshio with the LBs. With Spector out I would say him assuming Shaq Thompson is too name brand for this exercise. Edited Friday at 05:39 PM by LEBills 1 Quote

No, not necessarily. Late round picks would qualify especially since the Bills are a perennial contender can limit opportunities for late picks and UDFAs. Certainly Grable was a bit of a surprise last year. Hawes is kind of borderline for me. I watched him often at GA Tech and am not surprised at all that he is making an impression. He was fantastic against UGA last year. For those who aren't into college ball, I can very much see him as a surprise. When I wrote the OP, I was thinking UDFAs, cheap vets and camp invitees, but thinking about it further late rounds picks work as well. Quote
Ben Posted Friday at 07:11 PM Posted Friday at 07:11 PM Its cool that this is a lot harder than it used to be. Deep team with few jobs up for grabs. Its fun to find a Fred jackson every once in a while 1 Quote
Low Positive Posted Friday at 07:41 PM Posted Friday at 07:41 PM From a lot of local and national accounts, WR Kristian Wilkerson is making a lot with the chances he's been getting. I'll be looking out for him tomorrow. 1 Quote

But it's not every year that a UDFA makes the 53 like Buffalo Joe. It tends to only happen when we're not particularly deep at a position (like we were at LB last season). This year, we're much deeper pretty much across the board than we were last season. So I don't see any UDFA or camp invite making the 53. I think the closest you'll see to this is there's a good chance that after 2 seasons of being cut and then put on the Practice Squad, Tyrell Shavers has a really good shot at making the 53 this year. Maybe an outside chance that Lundt unseats Van Demark as the 4th OT. But RVD is very well liked by the brass and the guys in the locker room, so I'd be surprised. And there's no shot he beats out Grable with his performance this off-season. We didn't lose anyone on the OL from last season to this year. So it's unlikely that anyone from last season is cut to make room. Especially at IOL, in Bayer's case. He'd have to take one of SVPG or Alec Anderson's spots and I really don't see either being released. Edited yesterday at 12:05 AM by BillsFanForever19 Quote
frostbitmic Posted Friday at 10:10 PM Posted Friday at 10:10 PM Offense - Shavers Defense - Ingram Just a gut feeling on both but I thought Ingram looked much improved in limited action last season. Shavers has good size, plays teams and seems to be popular with his teammates. If it's rookie then Ill go with Dorian Strong. Seem to hear some positives about his camp so far. Quote
