I agree.  The Bills hold the cards.  He loses $5 mil if no deal and he sits.  In that case, the Bills gain cash and cap space.  From a biz prospective, he's losing.  The bills are losing less.  A trade would need to be very favorable for the bills to bite imo.

No the Bills don't hold all the cards.  Cook is essential to this team competing for a Super Bowl.  The drop off from Cook to Davis is significant.  I suspect the deal gets down sooner than later.

I dont think the drop off is thaaaat huge, but lets say it is... Cook isn't going to sit out the season because not only would he not get paid but he wouldn't accrue a season against his contract. That means next year he would still be on the same contract.

I do think the drop off is significant. But agree Cook isn't sitting out. He will play.

No it isn't superstar to scrub. It's top 10 back to borderline starting talent. It's going back from having someone who can make difference making plays there to the Singletary / Moss era where your running back is "fine." And we simply don't have the explosiveness in the pass game right now that we had back then as a counterbalance.

this is traditionally what happens for 4th year RBs who are good.. they hold out.  none of this is surprising.   His agent is directing his actions.   Plus his brother Dalvin is not helping.

Beane will wait him out.

my grandmother could run behind the Bills scheme.  I like Cook, but he's really not that special.. solid between the 20's on 1st/2nd down but thats about it

There’s no other business where the billionaire owners have been granted an anti-trust exemption and are able to prevent their employees from getting jobs at competitors.

The NFL is one corporation they can decide where he is offered a position in that corporation. Cook is free to join the competitors such as the NHL, MLB, or NBA if he desires.

As long as we have Josh, the passing game will potentially be explosive at any point. It looks like Keon is ready to make a 2nd year jump. I like Elijah Moore's prospects much more than Samuel, and we still have Samuel to use as a Slot/gadget player. Palmer is a better option than was Hollins. I also think Shavers makes the 53 and is going to surprise people by contributing more than expected. Shakir will be ready to go by mid-September. We still have the ole Josh favorite in Knox, and hopefully Kincaid can get going. We know that Ty and Davis are both solid options out of the backfield. The only thing we don't have is a Diggs, and Josh showed that wasn't necessary last year. Cook or no Cook, Josh will throw for 4000 and get his 40+ TD's.

Cook is not on the same level as Taron Johnson or Christian Benford?

No he's not because he comes off the field on third down. That is a critical down. Especially late in close games. Its why I wouldnt pay him 15 million a season.

Woah now pilgrim. ( thank you btw... I have never got to use a John Wayne quote on here 😁 ).    Davis is not that bad.  Myself and others feel, given the reps, he is a starting NFL back.

If Cook should hold out, it opens a door to find out, and sometimes that doesn't bode well for the player who isn't playing.  We see it in injuries mostly.

Then why hasn’t anyone else we’ve drafted or signed had 16 tds before?

I have been wanting a 40 passing TD season for awhile now.

Hope you're right, but the passing game didn't feel "explosive" last year. Maybe it will take a step forward this year, we'll see.

I'm talking about his combined TD's again. I think the passing TD's are somewhere between 33 and 37.

Why? Why did you have squash my dream? I thought I had found a brother in 40 passing TD arms...

Josh's escapability makes them potentially explosive, just like with Lamar. It's hard to cover guys for 5-6 seconds. Even from the pocket, Josh could eat people alive on the intermediate routes. He also has begun to find his outlets more. I'm good with methodically going down.the field. But I still think he's good for the big plays as well, just like we saw against Detroit and LA last year.

I'd LOVE to see it, and I know he can do it. We'll see what the games allow this year. It would only take 2.4 passing TD's per game to get it done

I want them to resign Cook.  But he could be packaged with Epenesa and a second round pick to get Parsons, or they could package either Samuel or Coleman with Cook to get McLaurin.  I think Davis and Johnson could do an adequate job at RB.

I’d love to see Cook waiting until his AARP card arrived to get an extension from Jerruh, but he will be at the top of the market!
