How many have they signed since Beane came in?  4 in 8 years?

Not sure but last year there were six undrafted UB free agents on NFL rosters.  The Bills had 3 of those 6 (Lewis, Ingram, Andreeson).

I think there is a bit of a correlation here without causation.  The Bills have brought 4 guys in from UB since Beane took over.  They have 3 from Texas A&M, 3 from V Tech.  Just because Buffalo has brought UB guys in doesn't mean they allocate more assets to their viewings.  My guess, they video scout and then maybe check with the coaching staff at UB to learn about the players.

I'm just saying, from my internal knowledge of how scouting works, local colleges like Buffalo don't get scouted more just because they are close to the Bills

That makes sense as you'd want to allocate your scouts to find the best possible talent in the country.  Small or big college programs.  I just think it's easier to recruit and sign unrestricted free agents if they play college football 18 miles away.

You seem to think the the fact he was in the Bills backyard as a reason the Bills had some kind of scouting advantage is not that significant IMO with the resources NFL teams have, every team tries to turn over every stone.  The Bills sign more UB players as UDFA's than other teams and it is possible they tried to sign Dolac but he thought he had a better shot elsewhere?  The Bills brought back all their backers from last year, not saying there were set but it would be easy to judge their might be a better opportunity elsewhere.   The guy was undrafted and to date has not done anything in the league yet. Maybe he will work out for the Rams but it feels like you are jumping to conlclusions.

This is a fair response and the first and only to touch on the possibility that Dolac didn't want to come to the Bills.

Good job.

As I actually posted, "It's absolutely fair to question why the Bills didn't secure his services" meaning it's fair to question why they didn't draft him. Had he been drafted, he wouldn't have had a choice and I really doubt he'd have a problem with being drafted by the Bills. Does anyone think differently?

As you point out, players like Buffalo Joe, Cam Lewis and JaMarcus Ingram came to the Bills because of the UB pipeline... the professional friendship that UB Football and the Bills enjoy.

Not that football decisions should be based on PR but imagine also the positive effect of Dolac signing with the Bills... as opposed to Kaden Prather.

This is pretty much the last time I'll say it or imply it... the Bills should have drafted Shaun Dolac.

Flame away...

I deserve that, I mean that Josh and Trubisky are on the same page and since Josh does not get hurt why rock the boat

lol I understand what you meant, i just feel with where Milton was drafted it wouldn’t even be an issue. Purely development and backup, now if he was a first round pick? Sure, there might be some sentiment where there could be an issue. Even then, with who Josh is and how he plays, Milton (you would think) would be soaking it all in to learn from such a uniquely elite talent.

Amari Cooper to the Raiders, coinciding with Jakobi Meyers requesting a trade.

Seems all these players/agents are following the same worn out playbook now. Contract talks aren’t moving, I’m going to request a trade. It does absolutely nothing IMO.

The Bills have no interest in developing a QB. It’s why Trubisky, who has not shot to start anywhere else, is the backup. Because he has played a ton of football and can help QB1 succeed. He can step in a run an offense on no reps and be successful.

How many 5th round QB develop behind starters like Allen and are traded for assets? 1 in 15 years? It’s simply not worth it. Give me a shot at Milano or Taron Johnson than a QB who would be behind a guy who hasn’t missed a game since 2018

If this is true, and I will say if, the Bills need to bring in Paul as LB # 5 and move Shaq Thompson  to the PS

I said it earlier - we had to keep an eye on which LB the Rams cut. They were deep. I read reports that Paul was impressive in camp too, so it’s a bit surprising. Makes it all the more impressive that Dolac beat him out. Too bad he’s not LB4 or 5 in Buffalo.

I agree I’ve been saying the same thing. They find Spreights and signed Landman this offseason to be a starter. Had Troy Reeder brought back , then had Paul and Dolac. I’m not buying Paul got cut until I actually see the transaction but if he did I’m not sure he’ll get down to the Bills waiver spot anyways
