I have a friend who's planning a trip with some guys to see the Bengals game, of 4:25 start. He's heard that Hammer'slot is a good place to hang out pregame. He has some questions:

Can he park an RV there?

Can he stay overnight there?

What time should he arrive to get in, or can he get a reservation?

Thanks!

I also have questions about Hammer's lot. I'm a STH and have parked in most stadium lots and at private homes lots. I normally walk to Hammers for a bit and obviously that's the place to go for great tailgating. Was always concerned about how it is getting out so I've never tried to park there. Plus of course one of Shaw's questions, what time do you need to get there to get a spot. I normally get there right when or up to 30 minutes before the stadium lots open which I suspect is too late, but how early would I need to arrive to be confident of getting a spot?

I was waiting for someone with direct experience to post, but from chatting the dudes up in the lot, they said you have to get there mega early to get a spot. There is no reservation that I am aware of. They all said they got there very early in the morning, but sorry I can't say when exactly. I did not notice any Rvs.

I would send a DM to pinto ron on insta and ask him.

Doesn't Hammer have an account here .   Why wouldn't you just message him directly.

I don't think he's logged in here for close to a year now

I do know Hammer's lot is 1st come 1st serve. I also know that there is aFacebook page for Hammer's lot. What I do not know is the RV question

Yeah I'd start a post there and you'll probably get a good answer from a group member, if not Eric himself.

With that being said, I never seen an RV there.

I've gotten to Hammer's Lot at 6 in the morning, and that is the ideal time to get there. I have never been there for a late afternoon game, so I am not sure if the lot opens that early.

Hammer's lot usually opens 6 hours before kickoff (2 hours before stadium lots).

You'd have to message him directly about overnight/RV parking.  I know some do that, but it may be friends/regulars.

First come first served is correct.  No reserved except for the TDBAHOT (IYKYK)

It's a B word to get out of.  Be ready to hang out for 60-90 minutes post game.

Thank you! That's the info I was looking for. Would love to go there, no issue with getting there early, but unless I'm staying in Buffalo overnight (I normally go back to my father's house in Rochester), I'm not up for the wait after the game. That's the main reason I switched from parking at the stadium to parking at private homes near the stadium.

For the gang,Hammers first is on this board, and sparingly posts.  He’s a good guy.  It is first come first serve so on a 1pm game, you’d better arrive by8:30am at the very latest.  I don’t know the answer to an RV, but Shaw, he likes when people place a piece of paper or cardboard,  TBD, as he tries to find space and his lot is smaller now since construction of the new stadium.

My advice is reach out on this board as a DM, so he doesn’t feel put on the spot.  I have no idea how early you have to learn when to show up for a 4pm game.  Shaw, tell your friend to get there early or even go to the Big Tee and grab some wings.  I’m they'll love it.   You can tell them the Kelly Bills were there all the time.  I saw Jimbo, Thurmon, and Reed more times than I can count in my early 20’s.  They are a WNY staple.

I do know that Danny's (kitty corner from The Big Tree) does RV parking.  Dunno how many $$$ but I'm betting it's lots of 'em

I'm not a Hammer Lot regular but I have parked there/tried parking there for a couple games before and if you aren't there by 7am you are pretty much SOL.  I remember the time we did park there we were pulling in at 6:55am and we were one of the last vehicles in before the lot was full.  And as far as the campers we were parked next to some dudes from Toronto that came up in a camper for the weekend and they stumbled into talking to Hammer the day before and he let them park in there but not sure if allowing campers in his lot is the norm.  But yes like the other poster mentioned Danny's which is in that general vicinity allows Campers to park. Could always park there and set up shop and then walk over to Hammer's to check out the shenanigans

Because he didn't know that? Isn't that obvious?

I was actually referring to your  recommendation to DM Pinto Ron to ask about a lot he doesn’t own .
