BuffaloBillyG Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I'm glad they went back to QBs this year. Did not enjoy last year with the WRs as much. 2 Quote

When we get a lead we just sit in a prevent type role and get smoked. It almost cost us in this game. The lions did whatever they wanted in the 2nd half and the game got a lot closer than it should have. Thankfully our offense didn't slow down either. . That said, we won. Should we continue with this strategy when we get up a few scores, or would you prefer more aggression when we have the other team one dimensional? Funny enough, the NFL Network just replayed the 2015 Playoff Game between the Panthers and Seahawks. Panthers were up 31-0 at the half when I turned it on. Before I knew it, it was 31-24 and Seahawks were still in it but botched their onside kick at the end. It all felt very familiar with McDermott as DC. Some things will NEVER change. This will always be an issue for the Bills with McD. Just hope Josh can cover for McD every time. Edited July 11 by DrDawkinstein 1 1 Quote

Would like to hear everyone's thoughts on it or parts that stood out. The show follows Cousins, Goff and Burrow last year. Considering the stories of the Bengals, Lions and Falcons last year (and their QBs), I give it a 10/10 recommend you watch. I absolutely enjoyed it. I fell asleep for the last episode so I'll get to that tonight One that stood out for me, was what they showed during the Bills and Lions game last year. We were up 21-14 at half. They show and give audio at the start of the third quarter and it's Ben Johnson and Goff talking....(edit..it may have been late in the third they had this convo. I'll have to watch that part again) Either way, the conversation goes like this Johnson-so you know, we aren't running it the rest of the game. Goff-yeah I know and if they keep playing D like they did at the end of the half we are gonna smoke em Now, I think this goes into what has been spoke about on these boards. Alphadawg7 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Joe Burrow is Christian Bale in "American Psycho" and kind of dig it lol. He has no emotion of any kind like a psychopath 😂 1 2 Quote

You get one free buddy with a different IP For me, it was great tv. Burrow is a weird, chill dude. Seeing how he dealt with losing last year while lighting it up, he earned respect points Cousins, like the first season reminds me of a guy that says and does all he is supposed to, but has a deep secret no one knows about Goff, is such a likeable dude. Hearing his story from him, even his girl and their relationship.. Goff is someone I'd have a beer with and is easy to root for. Agree with all this. Goff comes off as a genuine dude - and he and his wife truly seem to love and enjoy each other's company (ah young love). I actually had no idea Burrow broke up with his gf, was wondering where she was and had to Google to find out they broke up a while back. For Cousins I kept thinking how he comes off exactly how he did in the first season. Sometimes it seems too corny to be true but he absolutely has appeared consistent throughout both seasons. I still have 2 episodes left so maybe he reveals his dark secret is stealing baseball cards one time from the convenience store when he was 9 yrs old 1 Quote

I could of course be wrong, certainly won't be the first time, but I get that vibe. Look at how easy it is for him to "go ghetto" and be who the people want him to be. Sadly, I think he has been doing it his whole life. Watching the episode where his guy friends came, that was the closest he seemed to being happy. 1 Quote

The Bills and Lions defenses both were banged up and starting second & third stringers by the end of this game all over the place. With the power both offenses have they took advantage of the injuries tenfold. The more troubling game was the Rams the week before when our defense was fully healthy minus Jordan Phillips. 1 2 Quote
Big Blitz Posted Saturday at 07:17 PM Posted Saturday at 07:17 PM Finished it last night. Biggest takeaway: Ja’mar Chase is the best player in the NFL non QB. Burrow is great. Lots of empty calorie stat padding yards. Must be nice to have the best WR and another top 15 one in Higgins. Like him a bit more after the show. His comment about comeback player of the year was funny. And the “I don’t know about guns” as gifts for his linemen was funny to. Zac Taylor sucks. Still can’t stand him. Overall still hate the Bengals. When the Lions lost to the Commanders after securing home field - totally related to the trauma those fans felt. But they, like us in some of our playoff disasters, were doomed due to a decimated D. Goff is good people. Kirk Cousins is the league’s “dad.” 2 Quote

Because I've heard many opinions on our style of D when we are winning, that particular line from them really peaked my interest. You would think you don't play the style of D the other team hopes you play. Josh keeping the cape on and shredding that banged up D til the end really saved us that week Ideally I'd like Josh to take the cape off third quarter and ride the bench while the D puts their foot on our opponents throat You do realize that’s not really a thing when you play good teams? Sometimes people have unrealistic expectations of what is a good team. I mean I do agree. I wish our defense could just shut opponents down more and not go into that soft, prevent style that makes opponents burn the clock to score. It works…. Until you face a good team that scores in 2mins, not 6 or 7. I wish overall we kept the foot on the throttle both offensively and defensively every game. And for goodness sakes… don’t just roll out the same formations and schemes that got you there… when you get to the divisional round and on!! That above all else, IMO, is why this team hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet. Edited Sunday at 03:05 AM by Dan 1 Quote

That above all else, IMO, is why this team hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet. Yeah I know, but if we are blowing out a good team... Here's what I think. I think the Bills absolutely knew they were limited on what they could do on D, and while it didn't cost them against Detroit, it came close. Then when it mattered our D couldn't stop anyone. We went heavy man against a just OK chiefs offense and got shredded. That change up occurs because McD knows damn well what other teams know and has a better grip on what their strengths and weakness are than we do. I think this heavy D Investment is a result of moments like the end of the Detroit game, the chiefs game, the rams game.. We are counting on the O to run it back, a good bet and now we have enough new pieces that there is hope we can see a truly domino D this year I'm in the camp that OBD does evolve and try new things, and I think that 30 second part of Netflix QB illustrated what was known and why we did what we did this off-season 9 hours ago, The 9 Isles said: Burrow has the energy of real estate lawyer. Watching him eat his sandwich as the Broncos spanked the Chiefs back ups calmly and saying, there nothing I can do about it showing no emotion whatsoever backs this statement up. As @Alphadawg7 said, American Psycho esque. He is Joe Cool for sure. ***** 99% of this board gets more emotional about the Bills than burrow does about the bengals 1 Quote

Dillenger4 Posted Sunday at 01:42 PM Posted Sunday at 01:42 PM I'd rather see guys like Jameis Winston, maybe Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield. Guys with some personality. Outside of Kirk Cousins, this show is dry and "rinse/repeat" to a T. Goff is dull and boring and Burrow - well, learned a lot about him. I used to think he was a doosh. Now I just think he is captain weenie. Good player though. 1 Quote
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted Sunday at 02:03 PM Posted Sunday at 02:03 PM I can’t stand Burrow. One episode in and that sentiment hasn’t changed. Something about him is just really unlikable. While Allen somehow seems humble no matter what situation he is in, burrow seems to be kind of a douche and a show off. 1 1 Quote

You have Russ Wilson who was handed the starting job, but is not well liked historically among his team. You have Winston who is borderline insane, however extremely well liked in the locker room and a rookie in Dart that will likely see starts when the Giants are eliminated...so like by week 10. Couple all that with a Head coach that is sitting on a seat that's hotter than the 2002 version of Jessica Alba.....this would make for excellent TV. 1 1 1 Quote

Joe is not leaking self confidence and that shows for sure Where Josh, knows he's smart but is the kind of dude that doesn't think of himself as better than anyone else. We got the right Josh. HereComesTheReignAgain Posted Sunday at 02:30 PM Posted Sunday at 02:30 PM It’s also an interesting contrast listening to Burrow’s mom talk about doing everything for their golden child. She’s fighting the urge to cut his food for him. Meanwhile Allen talks about having to do hard labor on the farm in between practices. 1 Quote
Cheektowaga Chad Posted Sunday at 03:47 PM Posted Sunday at 03:47 PM This conversation actually makes a lot of sense If memory serves correct the bills did everything to sell out and stop the lions run game (what the lions offense is built on) The lions refused to give it up until the fourth quarter, and by that time the clock was on the bills side 1 Quote
