BuffaloBillies Posted Monday at 12:48 AM Posted Monday at 12:48 AM Heading to NYC for a magical weekend with my buddy. - Flying in Thursday 9/25 - Friday Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black 9/26 - Saturday 1:05 Baltimore @ Yankees (followed by college football at sports bar) 9/27 - NFL Sunday in NYC (Saints @ Bills 1PM) 9/28 - Return Monday 9 /29 So, I need some advice/reco's about where to stay and where to watch the Bills game. We haven't booked a hotel yet. See our schedule above where would be a good area? Specific hotel reco's? What's the best NYC Bills Backer bar to go? Any suggestions for after the Yankees game for a good place near there to watch college football games? Thanks! Go Bills! And USA USA USA (Ryder Cup - and look for me on TV, I'll be wearing my red, white blue Josh Allen jersey along the course) Quote
BringBackFergy Posted Monday at 12:54 AM Posted Monday at 12:54 AM It’s NY F’ing City. We don’t care. 3 3 1 Quote
stevestojan Posted Monday at 12:56 AM Posted Monday at 12:56 AM My buddies own several wing joints in NYC. Their story is amazing. But to get to the point: best (and in my opinion only truly authentic wings in NYC). Dan and John’s wings. At least three locations. Just Google maps when you get there to find the closest. They also play all bills games with a bunch of bills fans. 4 Quote

I'm a huge Yankee fan and my bud loves Orioles (for some reason), so that worked out nicely. Quote
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted Monday at 01:36 AM Posted Monday at 01:36 AM You could stay in Hoboken NJ and have a view of Manhattan. It would probably be much cheaper than staying in NYC and it is a great place to go out. And an easy ferry/train/bus ride to NYC. The best place to watch the Bills game is with the North Jersey Bills Backers at the Stone & Rail in Glen Rock. But that would probably be too far away if you stay in the city. 1 Quote

I lived in Hoboken for four years. Truly the best place I’ve ever lived and I’ve lived in 8 different cities across the country. Just an awesome place. I will say though, I paid $4700/mo for a 750sq ft loft so the secret is out and the prices are not substantially lower than NYC anymore. 1 Quote
Florida Bills Fanatic Posted Monday at 02:19 AM Posted Monday at 02:19 AM I stay in Jersey City when I travel to that area. I stay near the train station that will take you right into the World Trade Center Station. Good hotels and restaurants Sounds like a good trip. 1 1 Quote

The Bills are at MetLife on Sept 14. Quote

It’s currently $84!! You can do Ryder Cup, Yanks and be to Buffalo in time to get a good night sleep before hitting the tailgate. Ultimate dudes weekend 1 1 Quote

P.S. excellent Ryder Cup clothing choice! Quote
Shaw66 Posted Monday at 02:33 PM Posted Monday at 02:33 PM Mcfadden's on 2nd avenue in New York City is where you go to watch the Bills. If it's anything like it used to be, you'd better get there early. The place absolutely rocks. Quote

Penn 6 is the current Bills Backers bar in Manhattan I believe. 1 1 Quote

Mango Posted Monday at 07:27 PM Posted Monday at 07:27 PM (edited) I'd add the Comedy Cellar for sure. It's iconic. And the atmosphere is unmatched. Probably too early to get a ticket now. I think they book a month or so out. I can't recommend this enough. Cover is like $14 plus 2 drink minimum. Go a little early and grab a seat at the Olive Tree right above it. That's where alot of the comics hang out before hand. You can catch comedians like Burr, Normand, Jenson just shooting the shirt before they go on. Also not sure where you're from, but do some digging on food. Sports bars are 'fine' but I'd certainly use it as an excuse to go chase awesome versions of your favorites or explore stuff you normally can't get at home. Don't rely on little Italy if youre looking for Italian. Forewarning, the food in mid town blows. It's meh. Liberty Bagel on 35th is my favorite bagel in NYC though, so it's one of the very few exceptions. But there are better places for smoked fish. Los Tacos No 1 are popping up everywhere. They look like a chain, maybe they are now, but they started as a food cart/truck. They're legit. Speaking of Tacos, there's Taqueria St Marks. It's not fancy but good vibes and good tacos. Feels like a cross between Essex St Pub and The Pink. Kame Ramen on 8th is one of my favorite Ramens. It is in mid town and it's one of the few exceptions for things that don't suck around there. I'd put it up there with others in the East Village. Saigon Bahn Mi in China Town is my favorite Bahn Mi anywhere and that sandwich is my favorite of sandwich of them all. It's like $10. Get it (#1) spicy and with pate. Katz isn't just a tourist trap. It's legit and worth it. I've done Penn 6 a couple of times for Bills events. It's been good. I'm in and out of the city a bit for work and my doctors. Edited Monday at 09:01 PM by Mango 5 Quote
