It’s so funny to watch people defend the WR room and then suggest scrubs like this. I’m not talking about anyone in particular but I promise that the Ravens, for example, aren’t kicking around the idea of this scrub.

Instead they claim scrubs like Dionte Johnson off waivers hoping to get a compensation pick back or sign guys DHop who couldn't even be a good WR2 for a Chiefs team with no good WR outside a rookie Xavier Worthy.

Dionte Johnson is an idiot. He also had a 3 year stretch where he caught 281 balls for over 3,000 yards. Callaway has caught 16 balls since the start of 2022 and none in the last 2 years. That’s not the same.

Hopkins looks washed but he might be heading to the Hall of Fame. The Ravens took a chance on him as their 5th receiving option if you include the 2 TEs. They already have Flowers and Bateman. Flowers is certainly better than any Bills receiver and you could argue Bateman is as well (you may prefer Shakir to him). It was a risk worth taking because if he is in fact done, it doesn’t torpedo them. He was option 5.

When I hear the Chiefs have no good receiver outside of Worthy, that can only come from bitter Bills fans. Worthy obviously showed in the playoffs that he might be a young Desean Jackson. He was great. Rashee Rice turned 24 last week and was out most of last year (and may miss this year if suspended). He still had 938 yards as a rookie. He was off to a big start in 2024. They have Hollywood, Royals and Juju. All of those guys would play here. Worthy & Rice are better than all Bills receivers. Hollywood, Royals, and Juju are potentially better than all Bills receivers except Shakir. The Chiefs WR room is WAY better than the Bills.

Curtis Samuel when healthy has proven he can be a good #2 WR in this league, he seems to be forgotten or ignored as a WR on this team. Josh Palmer is a proven #3. The book on Coleman is open as will he improve or show what he showed pre-injury where he was producing at the same pace as Worthy was in terms of yardage.

The problem is with the Bills not having a pure #1 is there's no outstanding stat guy but if you look at our guys the disparity between our top producer and say 3rd producer as significantly different than other teams. I mean even though the stats weren't there I'd argue the 2024 WRs were better as a collective than the 2023 version. Despite not having Diggs' greats stats.

Samuel is a slash guy. I am a fan and have been since his Buckeye days. He was a RB. He isn’t a X or Z. He’s a guy that you manufacture touches for. I like him but he’s a role player.

Palmer is a proven 3 and gets separation. He was still WR 3 on a bad team that let him walk and tried to upgrade. He will be a top 2 on this team. That’s more about this team than him. How many teams would have Josh Palmer starting on the outside? It is a very small number. The same goes for Coleman. He has upside and downside. There aren’t many teams where he would be starting as of today. He absolutely needs to get better because the Bills need that.

I think that the Bills could use a 1 and/or 2.  They could also get away with a straight field stretcher. The WGR guys have been talking about Alec Pierce. He had like 820 something yards on 37 catches. He would round out the group.

The offense will be good and score points. It’s a bottom 5 WR group. It may not matter but the Bills shouldn’t count on a historic lack of negative plays and leading the league in turnover margin. I think they will be fine but I’m very surprised that this is what they’re comfortable running out there.

How do we know Palmer is a top 2 until the guys play. Same thing with Coleman improving, we don't know if will. Until I see something I really can't say what to expect but like to stay positive as figure with Samuel not having turf toe he should perform better. Palmer to me has to be better than the (injured) Cooper we saw. Palmer should be an improvement over Mack Hollins and Shakir to me only starting to show how good he can be. Toss in Kincaid being healthy in my opinion our 2nd best receiving threat behind Shakir.

I think Palmer has to be. He is a separator that has played outside. I think that alone, means he’s in the top 2 now. I agree with all of your thoughts here though. That’s kind of what I see too.

He doesn't need a football player salary.....he's got his own line of golf equipment and apparel now.....which maybe now he'll have more free time to use.

The main reason I'd like the Bills to have a competent WR group led by a star is so we no longer have to deal with posts/ideas like this.

When we had Diggs in his prime, this board talked about #2 WRs like they could cure cancer. It will be a constant topic here until we need a QB again. To put it shortly, people want a jersey to buy other than #17.
