It is stupid to play him this week. He has 6 days this week, which is likely fine, but the week after is a short week. He has 4 days. It will be tough to play on a high ankle sprain twice in 4 days without making it worse. 

That is the kind of decision that could hobble Mahomes for their playoff run. He can likely manage every week. The extra 3 days are huge. Nearly double the recovery time. 

If this were Allen I would be furious if we marched him out there. You are basically putting the Super Bowl at risk.

Baring any injuries vs Baltimore I think Pittsburgh has a great chance of beating KC at Heinz even with a 100% healthy Mahomes. Not a lock, but I would call them a close favorite. 

Mahomes with a high ankle sprain on 4 days rest against TJ Watt in a hostile environment? I am sure KC isn't afraid of Pittsburgh, but I would worry about seriously hobbling Mahomes in the lead up to the playoffs.

First off, the Texans have a very good conference record at 7-2.  A win against KC, and a Ravens win puts them in the driver's seat

for the #3 seed.  They have as much to play for as any playoff team concerned with seeding.

 

Mahomes hurt his ankle.  The question is how BAD the injury is.  None of us really know.  IF it's questionable, the best is to rest it this Saturday

and hope for Christmas Day.  He would get another long rest after that game.

 

That's how I see it.  This Saturday is huge for the AFC playoff picture.  The Denver/Chargers game is big too.

Looked pretty bad post game, was watching RZ, would be shocked if he plays on it, dude was hobbling around

Their only chance is the one seed imo. Buffalo and other teams in the AFC are most likely not going to be shredded by injury 

 

KC completely lucked out running into a super injured weak Miami team and injured bills team. Baltimore then thought they randomly had Dan Fouts at QB and their oc lost his mind....

 

Do you rest guys now and concede the one seed to buffalo? Idk 

 

Or do you risk going for the one seed. Idk

I do agree with those saying he is a "drama queen".  He is, but he did hurt it.  IF he does play, it will slow him down some and

with those tackles on the Chiefs, he may be in for a long day come Saturday.

 

That is the risk they have to evaluate.

I don't disagree, which to me makes me lean further into sitting Mahomes against Houston. You might beat Houston, who has nothing to play for, with Andy Reid and Wentz, but you will want your first ballot HoF QB ready for Pittsburgh and Denver. KC can drop one game but they can't drop 2. 

KC can win all three if they go Wentz, Mahomes, Mahomes. I think they can drop 2 if they go Mahomes, (4 day, high ankle sprain) Mahomes, hobbled Mahomes. Give him 10 days rest then shoot him up to close out the next two before he gets another 14 days off.

If it's a legitimate high ankle sprain, it's going to be even worse on Wed. It takes a good week or two for it to loosen up

100%, playing on it twice in 4 days is crazy. I don't know how you don't sit him vs Houston. 

If he had a full week between games I think he likely plays through it and I feel a bit less strongly about the whole thing.

Mahomes and Allen have two completely different mentalities when it comes to injuries it seems. Mahomes wears his pain response openly for all to see, including his teammates and some may argue he’s intentional when displaying how much pain he’s in immediately following an injury. 
 

 Allen on the other hand intentionally tries to hide any pain response to injury and doesn’t want his opponents or teammates to see him injured in any way, two very different approaches.

Allen reminds me of Jim Brown in that regard, never let the other guy know that you're hurt.  A bit harder this day with the blue tent and all, but I see the same toughness in Josh Allen that I saw in Jim Brown.

Oh, I'm not saying these games will all be blowouts...I fully expect one or two of them to be obnoxiously competitive, but on paper, a title contender couldn't ask for a better trio of games to close out the season, especially with two of them at home.

Mahommes was ranked by PFF last week as the worst offensive player for Kansas City , was something like 27/27. He's been bad a good chunk of this year. Even chiefs fans are now admitting this.

 

What makes you think putting Wentz in is "conceding the #1 seed"? 

 

I think Wentz can easily go 1-1 over the next 2 games . Rest up mahomes and then have him come back for the broncos game.
