Beanes Soup - Who Might be There as The Season Simmers to Add to The Bills Recipe for Success ?

You know how when you let some things cook longer like spaghetti sauce or a low and slow ribs or brisket or some Beane soup & it just gets better given some time ?

What players do you think might be there as the season simmers a bit longer that might make the Bills just a little bit better tasting for the fans this year ?

Every year we see the Bills GM make some kind of signing that none of us saw coming , i was wondering if any of you have thought this far down the rabbit hole this year to this point and if so who you might think that player might be ?

Last season it was Leonard Floyd, not sure about any other Bills fans here but i didn't see that one coming at all .

Given the needs and who ya'll think they will pick up in the draft and who has already been brought in what players do you think that could be left that may be able to help the Bills and could still be available late for not a lot of cash that could catch Beane pallet ?

I have a couple in mind and would like to see what ya'll think . I believe that the likes of Jedaveon Clowny, or a player like a Chase Young might still be available late to help bolster the Bills depth & the pass rush plus the huge possibility that there could be a very good safety still available that could be had at a vet minimum .

Do you think that there could be this kind of thing happen agin this year or do you think Beane will have his recipe complete after the draft & won't need to add any more ingredients by the time OTA's and such roll around or will he just go with some UDFA's to fill out the roster ?

I know it's kind of a corny metaphor for the title & all but hey it's the off season and i know Bills fans love to cook at tailgates & eat so i went with it ...

I'm just here for the title juxtaposition of "Beane's Soup" and "Mack Hollins Hates Soup".

I really don't want nothing to do with anything called "Beanes soup".

It's certainly nothing that i would ever have near my mouth......not that there's anything wrong with that.

Are you Mack Hollins?

Being that Beane literally never stops looking for opportunities I would say that it is likely that some sort of a Lenard Floyd esq acquisition will happen, who that may be, I have no idea, but it is likely a D line guy again,

There's really no knowing who until after the Draft. Those kind of late in FA signings come after the first couple waves of FA and the Draft concludes and he looks at spots he still feels needs some addressing after both.

At Cattlemans Steak house in Fort Worth Tx they call them Calf Fries (Bull balls) so they are a little bigger more for your money ...😜

Clowney??

I don’t think Clowney is the right fit as his role is a lot like Rousseau’s. Neither wins quickly with bend, speed and agility. Clowney wins with power and Rousseau more with his length, but it amounts to a similar result. Both are better complimentary pieces to a speed rusher with bend.

So I agree that DE is a huge need as we lack that edge that can get pressure quickly. I don’t see much pressure coming from the players currently on the roster. The good news is that a bunch of DEs signed after 6/1 last season. Hoping we can grab a good one this year even if he is just a quality pass rush specialist.

Soup guys? I could see them adding some depth O-Line. There are a bunch of centers/guards out there who could add depth or compete with Edwards that will be cheap. Brian Allen makes sense as a Kromer guy who was released. Evan Brown is young with potential.

At WR I would take a peek at Laviska Shenault. He isn't quite a traditional wide receiver, but a guy that you can maybe get for the minimum who can do a lot of things on the field. Durability is the biggest concern, but there have been times he has looked like Deebo Samuel or Cordarelle Patterson out there. He's still just 25 years old and I feel like he is a toy Brady could make use of. He can play inside and out, some RB, and returns kicks. 6-1, 227.

At DE Rasheem Green could make some sense. He has some sack production in the past, is a traditional DE, and is still young. James Smith-Williams is a depth end from the Commanders who has size and length and is coming from the same system. Those guys aren't really moving the needle, but could be functional cheap depth. The edge FA class is a barren wasteland outside of Mike Danna and Jadaveon Clowney.

At DT, I would like to see them maybe sign a 1 tech like Joseph-Day and then take a shot at a former highly drafted guy for the minimum like Marlon Davidson or Taven Bryan, guys who can give you some rotational interior pass rush.

Davidson might have the size for DT but he's a DE but not that great at getting to the QB. Taven might be an okay guy behind Oliver as long as he not looking for starting money I'd be okay adding him but feel Joseph-Day offers more.

Yeah I feel like he has some crossover appeal. I know Atlanta used him inside and out, but that was awhile ago. Obviously, he hasn't been super productive, but scouring the free agent market I was trying to find some younger guys with some pedigree. Bryan I see as a bit similar to Oliver, which could be good as a backup.

I do think the Joseph-Day signing should happen regardless of what else they do at the position. I think he would be a perfect rotational 1 tech to go along with Jones.

Let the leftover safeties marinate. Get Simmons for cheap or Blackmon cheaper. Not too excited for the remaining pass rushers? Any additional wrs will come out of the draft. I too agree Joseph-Day would be a smart backup to DQ.
