Bills Host DT Sebastian Joseph-Day on Visit

Recommended Posts

He’d be a great add!!!

Not following the Chargers at all I didn’t notice they just released him toward the end of the season.

Looks like he had a falling out with the coaches or organization.

I'd like this signing a lot, but that should be it for vet DTs. I hated beane's strategy of going five deep with vets at DT last year. Just burning money. Sign one guy and then draft one or two on day 3.

I agree with you.. but I’m predicting they sign a vet back up to Oliver and a vet to back up DQJ … it’s just what they seem to do 🤷‍♂️

Here's a write up on Joseph-Day plus 3 other defensive players from an Eagles' site:  4 Free Agents

Joseph-Day seems a worthwhile pick up since the Bills use a DL rotation.

“Joseph-Day is 28 years old and entering his sixth season. He was cut from the Los Angeles Chargers in December but that was largely due to financials and their season effectively being over.

He moved to the 49ers less than a week after that and left the Chargers to provide depth along the defensive line. When he was with the Chargers, he was a defensive captain and was second on the team in quarterback hits. “

Well that’s already a nice upgrade from our DT3/4

He was seen as an up and coming DT with the Rams who played well and parlayed that into a semi big deal with the Chargers and didn’t pan out as well as they’d hope.

I still think he’d be a good add depending on price.

Per Spotrac he played for 49rs last year on a 1 yr(s) / $2,700,000 contract. They show his base at 2.7M but his cap hit at 400k. How does that work? I don’t spend much time looking at these numbers. Thanks

iirc he was cut by the chargers late in the season and signed by SF
