They could play their preseason games at the old highmark since they're not tearing it down right away.

How does Denver come up with a 2 billion dollar dome stadium with a 78000 seat capacity. We have no dome and less seats with higher cost.

The preseason games are the games to walk around the stadium and check out all the features and take in the new look.  Most fans won't be spending a lot of time in their seats.

I'm guessing lesser labor unions not as large of a "family" presence in Colorado.

Yeah, it's almost like the waltons have a net worth 5x-10x the Pegulas. Still, it's criminal the Pegulas pay so little for the one they are building.

The new Bills stadium had an initial estimate of $1.4B. It's only over $2B now due to overruns. The new Denver stadium's initial estimate is over $2B to start. It will likely end up costing more than that once they start construction. So it's not that the Denver stadium has the roof and more seats and is still cheaper. The apples-to-apples comparison is between the initial estimates/budgets in which the Denver stadium is $600M+ more. Maybe they will be able to stay on track with the budget better than us...I guess we'll see.

That may happen.  It would be smart to do it that way.  Gives the crews a little more time to tidy up.

It will be $3B by the time it's done.

 

There are state taxes in Colorado and real estate is not cheap in Denver.
