I have to retract what I said about not rooting for Florida teams... I root for East Bay football and little league because a kid I've known since he was born plays for them, his older sister was a cheerleader too.

I just wanna take a different turn, on this. Why the hate for Vegas? Seriously. Get a little introspective. 
 

have you been to a game in Vegas? And if you have, we are not like Boston fans or Jersey dopes. We like to have a good time, root for our team and treat other fans with more respect than they deserve, even when they are obnoxious (I’m talking about in person, and not me on these forums). We are good hearted and love the game and other fans attending. So where does this hate stem from? I really am baffled. Because the only place I have seen just as hospitable at the Knights games is the Bills

and rooting for the panthers has nothing to do with the NFL at all, so that has no impact on our Bills or Sabres fandom. If anything it just shows how die hard Buffalo fans we are! Rooting against Eichel and for our boy Sam Reinhart and ex-Sabre Brandon Montour.

 

I don’t think you are one to lecture anyone on their Buffalo fandom though. You don’t even know anything about at least 1/2 the professional teams in Buffalo.

 

There really was no great team to root for in the playoffs this year. I didn’t have any team I really wanted to see win it all. If I had to pick a team I was rooting for this year I’d say Probably the Devils, simply because Lindy Ruff is their coach. He was the Sabres coach for 16 years (1997-2013) and still is open about his love for Buffalo. He’s even said he’s still rooting for the Sabres success even though he coaches NJ. It’s not often you hear another coach say something like that.

 

Now that they’re eliminated, it’s a lesser of 2 evils thing for me, which you would understand if you were a Buffalo fan, not just a Bills fan.

No, you had nothing to do with me rooting against Vegas. I’ve been rooting against them since their 2nd season (before Eichel). I already explained why I am rooting against Eichel in a previous post and also why I chose Florida (it’s literally in the post of mine you are quoting).
 

anyway, I’m done. You aren’t looking for actual conversation on this topic.

I am just happy to be posting in this thread this late in the season. I don’t post right after a game, whether we win or lose… I usually wait until I remember to check the only hockey thread/forum that I know of. If the knights get knocked out, I won’t be back until next post season… unless we don’t make it, in which case, you all will be in luck and it will be a wait and see.

I am just guessing the Knights have their own message board. I don't like Eichel and don't want him to win. Do not care if you think that is shallow. It's not personal against folks who live in Vegas or root for them. I liked Sam Reinhart when he was with the Sabres. His departure was not acrimonious and he did not act like an entitled Boston jerk because he wasn't one. So, I find I can rather easily root for the Panthers. I don't conflate them with the Dolphins, just as I don't think of the Raiders when the Knights in their ugly mustard yellow sweaters hit the ice.

Get over yourself. You are posting in a Buffalo forum as an enthusiast for a team many Sabres' fans dislike. The Knights never trailed in the series, so your persistent effort to make the Vegas hockey team a center of discussion was always in the context of a less than favored franchise that was in an advantageous position. If you think to call that out is dishonest, I suggest you are not thinking well enough.

The Finals haven't generated much conversation lately. I will take a shower because i does feel a bit dirty but I'm rooting  for the KNIGHTS to win the cup. . I'll  claim it's due to  proximity. ahh yess Lost Wages Nevada is  approx 5 hour drive from my house. Still not a fan of those home unis.

I counted 2 Florida shots that clanked off the Golden Knights goal posts. Depending on which team you are rooting for it's  either the best OR the worst sound ever.

 

Because of that I think this game was closer than it might appear at first glance of the final score

I was mostly watching the bandits game, so I didn’t watch as closely as I normally do. But every time I flipped back to the hockey game (when the bandits game was on a commercial break) it seemed like Vegas was carrying the play. Glad to hear it was closer than the final score made it look.

 

I look forward to watching game 2. I just hope it’s a good series, whoever wins. I’d like to see it go 7 games. There’s nothing better than a game 7 Stanley Cup final!

The Panthers were cheap shotting the entire game trying to get Vegas to react… but Vegas is big and strong on all 4 lines, and they laughed it off. The Panthers acted like punk little brothers who knew they couldn’t win a real hockey game. They were embarrassing in my opinion
