News flash: Sometimes backup OL have to play.  Not wanting the season ruined and franchise QB injured because my backups can’t do what they’re paid to do is not being “obtuse”.  Since you like to use unoriginal movie quotes, I’ll keep this in geometric terms.  Having a competent backup is taking the “right angle” to keeping your QB healthy.

Still not getting it
The problem that the bills will have with back up lineman is the same problem that every other team across the league will have

No team has a solid set of back up lineman salary. Cap won’t allow it in addition to the fact that there aren’t that many good lineman to begin with.

I’m just starting to feel sorry for you now

You are basing this off one game

The following week that Bengals line came back to earth, and got decimated by the Chiefs

they almost didn’t make it out of their previous game to even make it to the bills game

It does not mean that the Bengals line was great far from it

Sure made our over-invested DL look silly

I see that

Read the tea leaves on this they’re gonna be real pain in the ass after games that we win this next season and we’re going to have to put up with it

They wont be here when we win, or they'll change their tune. We've both been here long enough to have seen it before.

I don’t remember the season before last having this many punch ball pissers

I think we’re going to have to deal with these naysayers on a game after game basis regardless, if we win or lose this year, they are so butt hurt over not going to the Super Bowl last year

This guy is really bad when he has to play significant snaps. It was his complete whiff on a speed rusher when he was filling in at RT that got Allen’s UCL injured.

I think this signing is an indication of how bad offensive line depth is across the entire league. Every team has scrubs like this playing backup. Some teams don’t even have 5 starter quality players.

This, to me, signals we will likely draft a Tackle early.
They can say they believe in Spencer Brown all they want, but I can’t imagine they believe in him enough for only Q and Doyle to be depth/competition.

Hmmmmm.  Well, any time I say something like this, it turns out to be what the Bills actually do

OOOO And Spencer Brown STILL needs to be upgraded

OK, now wait a minute.  Those grades put KC as having a worse OL than we did.  I thought KC was our example of a team that valued the OL and improved it so we should emulate them?  (either that, or this is fun and those grades should be taken with some salt)

Those are 2023 projections in pass pro.  So yeah safe to project KC as struggling in 2023 as well, specially on the edges where the projections say they will stuggle

Both of KCs OTs left in FA and they paid a RT a huge contract to play LT for them. Hence the rating.

My point remains.  We've been told that KC prioritized OL, unlike the Bills.  So if their off season moves project their OL to be struggling and worse, what does that say about their judgement/priorities?

(obtaining a RT to play LT for them worked out pretty well for them with Orlando Brown)
