I have been to Westminster Abbey - it is amazing on a normal day.  It is going to be a spectacular event to see the coronation of the first King of England in 70 years

And we get a day off work for it. That could be quite a while though. Maybe even next year.

My employer Yahoo just announced a paid day off for the funeral for employees in the UK and any Commonwealth country.

There you go, every cloud 👍

The funeral and coronation of Charles will both be Bank Holidays for us.

From the intrinsic value of keeping the plebs amused, I have to admit, it will be amazing! Fascinating to see.

Anyway... That's the time to get ***** done, slip things passed the media and news cycle.

Just an FYI.  All media have an off switch.

In the UK atm, 'All Media' has it everywhere.

Example, as you would expect, it's the lead story on the BBC News site. However, it's also the lead story on the Sport section of the site.

Further, as you go to the sub-sections of the different sports, it's still the lead story on all of those, e.g. Football, Rugby, Formula 1, Cricket, etc.

Wow.  My condolences to you and your family.

Sorry if you don't understand why it's such a big deal.

Technically the monarch has a final

say on some things but it’s all pretty ceremonial. A bit like the point after TD before it was moved back.

I suspect she’s already died and they’re just getting everything in order before an announcement this evening.

I’d be interested in knowing what “things” the monarchy has final say on in Great Britain.

An example is when there’s been a general election and a winning political party has been declared winner, the leader of the party has to go to the monarch to request permission to form a government. Technically permission can be denied but as this is “ceremonial” it won’t be.

I’m sure there will be a few more but the internet can probably feed your interest more than I can 👍
