But once Putin went all Hitler on Ukraine it was right for us to help destroy his fascist puke army, right?

No

Some are loyal.  Not all certainly.  If a real referendum were held in the east I'm confident most would not want to secede.

A real referendum has been held, 3 times

Russia champions Elon Musk's 'peace' proposal, Ukraine rejects Musk as two-faced
Musk sparks outrage in Twitter polls proposing Ukraine give up land to Russia

The Kremlin on Wednesday applauded Telsa CEO Elon Musk’s suggestion that Ukraine should capitulate its territory illegally seized by Russia to end the war.

Simple solution.

1. Russia gives back all the land they've captured, including Crimea.

2. Ukraine pledges perpetual neutrality. No EU, no NATO, no foreign troops, no foreign bases.

3. Ukraine gets their nukes back, or gets to make new ones.

That should keep them independent.  If they want to be dumb thats on them. Russia's proven that having tons of nukes doesn't save you from your own stupidity.

I thought they'd learn from us, but their national inferiority complex is so huge they really do have to be better than us at everything.

‘They Are in a Panic’: Ukraine’s Troops Size Up the Enemy
The New York Times ^ | October 7, 2022 | Carlotta Gall

Racing down a road with his men in pursuit of retreating Russian soldiers, a battalion commander came across an abandoned Russian armored vehicle, its engine still running. Inside there was a sniper rifle, rocket propelled grenades, helmets and belongings. The men were gone.

“They dropped everything: personal care, helmets,” said the commander, who uses the code name Swat. “I think it was a special unit, but they were panicking. It was raining very hard, the road was bad and they drop everything and move.”

After months of static fighting and holding the line under withering Russian artillery barrages, Ukrainian soldiers are exulting over their smashing of Russian lines in the northeast three weeks ago, and their recapturing of swaths of territory seized by Russian troops earlier this year. They have almost retaken the whole of Kharkiv Province, as well as territory in each of the four regions that President Vladimir V. Putin claims to have annexed for Russia.

There has been little time for reflection for the Ukrainians as they press their counterattack, focused on keeping the pressure on the retreating Russian army to prevent it from regrouping. Yet after months in the trenches never seeing the faces of the enemy, Ukrainian soldiers and commanders have now engaged the Russians up close and gotten a chance to size up their opponent.

George Will gets it. Russia is in the business of exporting its sadism. MAGA is based on Russian ignorance, cruelty and attempted thuggery

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/10/07/putin-russian-cruelty-ukraine/

Is Russia’s endemic cruelty (and the related, rabble-like looting by Russian soldiers, stealing everything portable, from screwdrivers to televisions) germane to U.S. policy regarding Ukraine? The answer:

Putin has correctly cast this as a civilizational conflict. Were he visiting violence and corruption only on Russians, the West would have neither prudential reason nor practical means to restrain him. The history of the previous century, however, teaches the pertinence of a nation’s internal dynamics to its external behavior. Putin’s Russia has a metabolic urge to export its pathologies, becoming the collectivist alternative to open societies of rights-bearing individuals fulfilled through private rather than nationalist aspirations. If this export is not defeated — if the West chooses, in the name of “realism,” to let it metastasize, which it may — the West will wither from self-loathing, and will deserve to.

How you manage to invoke Trump or MAGA based upon any combination of words from that article is truly bizarre.

I ***** hate Trump and think the MAGA idiots are mostly just that; idiots. But damn dude, you need help.

Trump is a tool of the authoritarian regimes that were thrilled to get him in our seat of power. Trump was already sabotaging Ukraine's defence. Thank God the American people booted him

Tibs…..living in bright red california we never see anything “targeted at GOP voters”. So I’m curious as to how exactly the Tweeter believes Russia is doing this or if they can cite an example.

Why? You wouldn't believe it anyway. You have seen examples right here, but you ignored them.

Admit it, you won't accept the truth, right?

Another serious question met with childish nonsense. I’m honestly curious what those advertisements would look like. Out here we have Dems running ads that are labeling Republicans as anti-abortion. Now those I can see, even if they make no sense with California being firmly ‘pro choice’. But what does a Pro Russia political ad look like?

Ugh…the tweet said they’re targeting GOP voters with an influence campaign. So it’s your position that Fox News is the source for this campaign? How exactly? Russia isn’t running ads anymore? They’ve switched to directly paying television network commentators?

I said you won't believe it, so I am right?

Seems like they are on the payroll

Nothing I can say will convince you, because you woudn't believe anything.

This means nothing to you:

Tibs…I know it’s really hard for you to understand but having a different opinion is neither hate speech, or foreign propaganda. It’s actually what makes this country unique and great. I’m sorry if your yearn for a time when everyone thinks in lockstep with the central government’s position or when alternative opinions are silenced, but I’m praying we never get to that point.

Would you care if one side was spewing foreign propaganda?

All sides are spewing propaganda.  It's the nature of warfare.

So like Hitler's propaganda was equal to the allies propaganda?

Putin's propaganda is no different than Ukraine's?

You are excusing evil
