Elon Musk is Time’s Person of the Year.

A friend comments: “Good call. He’s a delightfully odd human being. His eccentricity and ingenuity are truly historic and worthy of the title. Give me the Elons of the world any day over the self-important pencil-pushing desk poghs within the sad little DC bubble….the utterly useless, wholly uninspiring political elitists of recent past. Elon is a real mover and shaker – he’s among a select few worldwide who truly make things happen. An actual genius. Time got it right for the first time in a very long while.”

She’s right.

Islamic Republic of Iran considers nationwide ban on ‘unclean, un-Islamic’ dogs.

guitly_dog_12-15-21.jpg

Iran Considers Nationwide Ban On ‘Dangerous, Harmful’ Pets,” Radio Farda, November 19, 2021:

Iran’s parliament is floating legislation that would ban most household pets in the name of protecting the country from the dangerous influence of “unclean” animals.

Under the bill on the “protection of public rights against dangerous and harmful animals,” prepared by hard-line conservative lawmakers on November 17, Iranians would be barred from owning, breeding, and transporting dogs, cats, rabbits, and other common pets.

The keeping of “wild animals” such as snakes, lizards, crocodiles, mice, monkeys, donkeys, and turtles would also be barred if the legislation is approved, and violators would be subject to heavy penalties.

Payam Mohebi, a senior member of Iran’s Society of Veterinarians, scoffed at the idea of such a varied list of animals being bunched together. “Definitely, in my view as a vet, a rabbit, a mouse, a crocodile, a dog, a cat, and a turtle cannot be classified in the same category in terms of being dangerous,” he told RFE/RL’s Radio Farda on November 18.

“Danger in what sense?” he asked, noting that in the case of exotic pets, such as crocodiles, certain health protocols are in place.

‘Unclean, Un-Islamic’

The authorities have attempted to introduce similar restrictions against household animals in recent years as the ownership of dogs and other pets has become more popular despite the clerical establishment’s arguments that keeping them inside homes is unhygienic and un-Islamic. Instances of people being attacked by stray dogs have also fueled calls for restrictions….

This is the crap you get when voters do not have a say in their government. Democracy is great! Not perfect, but better than having rulers pick themselves.

Silent No More: The Left Loses Its Monopoly on Narrative Setting

By Marc Ang

Americans are finally getting hip to the mass manipulation by the media. I watched as the media did its best to make January 6th a “thing.” But having just taken a road trip across country, the rank and file voter says otherwise. A recent CBS poll also confirms that a vast majority of Americans do not believe that this was an “insurrection” and are a lot less hyperbolic about it than talking heads on liberal cable shows or the Beltway media.

Perhaps what fascinated me the most was the blatant statements many regular people are making about Democrats and Biden. It’s not just the “I did it” stickers at the gas pumps. It is now a cultural phenomenon. Not just a rural one, but it’s spilling over to the suburbs. People are not as afraid to be vocal.

Whether it was visiting one of the tourist traps on Duval St. in Key West on New Years and seeing all anti-Biden paraphernalia for sale, to overhearing loud conversations in Noble, Oklahoma, at a local diner, I noticed that the right is finally getting vocal after being silenced for so long, especially when Trump was president.

What catalyzed this shift? I think as usual it’s the overreach from the left. They’ve bought into their own hype, thinking the last election was some sort of sweeping mandate and have done such nonsensical things that Manchin and Sinema have had to put on the brakes.  In addition, tangible issues like supply chain fiascos affecting Christmas, higher gas pump prices, and inflation have given average patriotic Americans a reason to voice their weariness with wokeist priorities.

Republicans are given this golden opportunity now to lead and propose fresh ideas. The bigger question is, are they able to capitalize on this perfect assist or are they going to blow another golden opportunity?

I have a bigger issue that transcends both parties. Why is the left trying so hard to remove America from being America? This is what is causing so many Democrats to become conservative. If the left keeps poking the bear, and attacking people for their heritage, a polarization effect occurs.

It was never about Donald Trump. Trump was merely a vessel that needed to happen. I’m not even white, but I have felt this attack against American values and heritage for decades now. When I had clientele from the liberal Hollywood elite, one said something powerful to me, “America has no culture.” I chose not to respond but in my head, I was thinking, “Wow, I love American culture, our history, our success.” That shocked me. She was a white liberal who came from the heartland, in the Midwest, but was there so much self hatred, she couldn’t see how great this country is?

The Ignored Pandemic: 360 Million Christians Persecuted Worldwide

by Raymond Ibrahim
February 13, 2022

"When the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, they tried to appear moderate—but there's no sign that Christianity will be anything other than a death sentence." — World Watch List-2022.

"The persecution of Christians in India has intensified, as Hindu extremists aim to cleanse the country of their presence and influence. The extremists disregard Indian Christians and other religious minorities as true Indians, and think the country should be purified of non-Hindus....." — World Watch List-2022.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has offered a new weapon to persecutors. In some areas, Christians have been deliberately overlooked in the local distribution of government aid and have even been accused of spreading the virus." — World Watch List-2022.

In Qatar, "Violence against Christians rose sharply ...." — World Watch List-2022.

In Bangladesh (#29), local authorities told Muslim converts to Christianity who, like their Muslim counterparts, sought governmental aid, "to return to Islam or receive nothing."

In the Central African Republic, which was "hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic ... Christians were denied government aid and told to convert to Islam if they wanted to eat."

[A]t least a quarter, though arguably much more, of all hate crimes registered in Europe in 2020 were anti-Christian — representing a 70% increase compared to 2019.

[I]t is telling that the European nations suffering the most also happen to have Europe's largest Muslim populations — namely, Germany (where anti-Christian hate crimes have more than doubled since 2019) and France (where two churches are reportedly attacked every single day, some, as in the Muslim world, with human feces).

In short, the persecution of Christians, which was already horrific, has increased by nearly 70% over the last five years, with no signs of abating.

How long will it be before this seemingly irreversible trend metastasizes into those nations currently celebrated for their religious freedom?
