Sure it is. Just like Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch was a first try, so was Jan 6

Interesting take. So what EXACTLY is this committee doing? I thought you said they were upholding democracy. If true, shouldn’t they be looking into the voter issues that the Trump supporters were upset about? What’s there to look into with the people who entered the Capitol? Has ANYONE opined that those people were right in what they did? This sounds like the Mueller Report all over again where when asked if he look into the Steele Dossier…he said nope we weren’t looking at that.  Sounds to me like there are some ROOT CAUSES not being uncovered….hmmm?

I made the same observation after the super bowl here in Los Angeles…there sure were a lot of people from Cincinnati here that weekend! Very curious….no?

Reminds me when the Bills played the SB in Pasadena. I was the restaurant Chef at the Hilton in Long Beach.  A tour from Mexico was staying there. When the bus left for the game most were wearing Bills gear.  I asked why Buffalo. They all shouted TORO TORO!  😂

The 61 failed election fraud lawsuits wasn’t enough for to swallow your pride and the BIG LIE?

Too damn bad

Meanwhile: back to the investigation:

Authoritarians always think they are above the laws.

What if Pence agreed?  Do you think that Trump would have remained president?

Honestly, how dumb are all of you?

The Committee isn’t a law enforcement entity as your blood thirst would imply.

Tibs says their sole purpose is to protect democracy. I’m all for that! Are they looking into the protocols that were used to change election regulations without proper legislative action? Hmmm? When does the protecting democracy start? After the witch hunting ends?

Not enough. Spending on defending our democratic institutions is worth it

Should have spent more on security that day.  When will we finally get to the bottom of who refused additional security and why?

In any case, the majority of people believe it was a protest that went too far.  And they don't care about this committee.

Extra security was not provided because the goal was to let the protest happen and let things get out of hand.  With or without help from federal agency operatives inside the demonstrations encouraging or participating.  The silence in the face of questions why security was "standard" in the face of 100,000+ protesters expected to express their dis-satisfaction at the election results and process is deafening.  Simply, experienced and seasoned security specialists and leadership at the Capitol would never have allowed this event to get out of control unless ordered to stand down.  Only a handful of officials have the authority to give that order.  Notably the office of the Speaker of the House.  But don't get too excited.  You won't see any subpoenas issued for their testimony.  Identifying facts and the truth is not high on the list of the Committee's primary objectives.

What is on their list of objectives is using the event as the pretext for an investigation and provide conclusions to push for new legislation outlawing criticism and dissent to government.  Demonizing and silencing political opposition.  Protecting government from the people, not protecting the people's democracy.  Just looking at the cast of grifters and charlatans that compose the Committee provide obvious clues to their intent.

What about when both Houses flip next year?

Does the NYT know it's audience better than anyone? Just make a loud headline that has some minor resemblance to a fact for those too dumb to understand. Billstime how many Dems are discussing the 25th amendment today and everyday in regards to Biden?
