Not a Trump supporter.  Just not a big government socialist supporter.  He did well with the economy before the fake pandemic.  That is one of a few things he's done that I like.  Bushs, Clinton and Obama should be belt down and shot.  You ever ask yourself how the Clintons and Obamas are filthy rich when they weren't before their presidencies.

That's also not changing the subject.  It is redirecting the ignorant criticism and false claim over to the actual guilty party.

Why is Leftist babel and make claims that are inaccurate and Don't make sense when confronted by a knowledgeable person that they can't bully.

The economy was roaring under Obama, before Trump took office.

Did you ever wonder why everyone in Congress exits rich?

This has nothing to do with being President.

That's antiquated. For instance, Kamala's former Chief of Staff is head of censorship at Facebook. The Democrats and big tech are really one in the same at this point. They use the fact that they're not technically government to elicit opinions like your own.

...social media is nothing more than an extension of the "MSM Swamp".......yet social media is as much the Bible for some just like CNN....forget verified sources, ethics, objectivity, et al......the once proud industry with the likes of Huntley, Brinkley, Cronkite, Edward R, Russert etc are LONG gone.......MSM is today's National Enquirer whose "headline news" you read (and choked on) in the grocery store line years ago......

It is interesting how there are so many here that support corporate fascism. These tech companies would not exist with support from DARPA and other federal agencies. Google is an extension of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. Also, how does a government allegedly bound by the Constitution, have the ability to partner with a private citizen to create a legal "entity" that has far more liability protections than the citizen, while claiming to not be bound by the Constitution. No one would create a corporation if not for the liability protections that it affords, and that is due to partnering with a government sanctioning body, such as the State Department whereby the "entity" is birthed and registered. I suppose everyone endorses fascism now as long as it satisfies an accepted public narrative.

You obviously don't understand how business works and will believe this to the very end.  Obama's EPA and Obamacare as well as Agreements with other countries and organizations were strangling the economy.

Sometimes they have their own businesses or are already Rich.  Most of the time they line their pockets selling you and I out.  Yet you would support a guy like Biden.
This has nothing to do with being President.

BS

We agree on some things obviously, that just makes me scratch my head about who you support.

The USA has ancient Rome's problems. We are spread so thin around the world in service of defending free trade via the Bretton Woods system, that we now have decades worth of foreign investments that have taken on lives of their own based on geography. Our politicians are bribed and blackmailed from entities on every continent. These elements have thoroughly penetrated the Republic since WW2, and then of course we have our problems from the decades before WW2. Globalism is dead, and unlimited growth has now reached its limit. If you view the world from the 1890s, then current events says that the world will revert to that global model of regionally dominant powers. The USA is withdrawing from defending global trade routes for free. Trillions of dollars in assets priced in the US dollar at risk, and so, the chaos of nations finding safe havens for investment yields the acting out in desperation. Internationally, power is devolving from all centralized regimes to the local level, as that is the accelerating trend in global supply chains. The bright side is that, as bad as things will get for us during this withdrawal, the rest of the world is ill equipped to transition as fast as we can. Of all the major economies, we rely the least on selling our goods via these routes.

The world faces demographic collapse also, which makes the losses in war even more costly. We have every advantage. Biden is supported by those who wish to save this former global order, but even if he wins, it's doomed to fail regardless. Geography will matter again, and we are in a prime position to pull back, regroup, and watch the world beg us on bleeding knees for assistance. It's a matter of leverage and patience. Any nation cut off from the US dollar is royally screwed.

“Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media are allowed to report and what the American people are allowed to hear, and why do you persist in behaving as a Democratic super PAC, silencing views to the contrary of your political beliefs?” Cruz said during the hearing.

The answer: NO ONE ELECTED ME! I started a private company that sets its own rules. If people don't like my service, they are free to go elsewhere to find the types of opinions they enjoy. Maybe that's our Parler competitor; maybe it's a hijacked Buffalo Bills forum; maybe it's those creepy 4chan sites. Stop trying to tell me what my private business "should" do or not do. The people of Texas did elect you, and you are sworn to defend the constitution and freedom of speech, so who put you in charge of deciding what my service is required to publish?"

(unfortunately Dorsey didn't say this)

I kind of expect this type of nonsense from partisan political hacks. But Ted Cruz knows better. Remember, he's a constitutionalist. You know, "Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press." Part of that freedom is the right to decide what your newspaper (or now website) publishes. This is none of the government's business, and Ted Cruz "the constitutional scholar" knows this, but right now he'd rather play for 2024 and be "Ted Cruz, crusader against the liberal elites."

I've come to the conclusion that in the Trump-controlled GOP, the only part of the US Constitution that Republicans support is the 2nd Amendment, which they interpret to  mean any nut is entitled to possess as big an arsenal as he can afford and can take it anywhere he wants, including into schools, churches, and polling places.  Every other part of the Constitution is meaningless.

Trump fraudulently used over $2 million of charity funds for personal use. He even signed statements agreeing that he did so.

Worst of all, he used the funds to buy a Tebow jersey.

Hillary Clinton sold plutonium to an enemy of the United States.  That's treason.  What you're saying is misappropriation of funds and a Civil matter not Criminal also not theft.  The $2 mil is the amount he agreed to pay not what he misused.

whataboutism at its finest!

What was the amount he misused them? I feel like even misusing $1 of charitable funds would be bad.

Also, are you saying he paid $2,000,000 as a settlement? So the actual misuse of funds is actually higher and Trump as a good business man negotiated the amounts lower?

Never called him a saint but he does appear to be the lesser of 1000 evils.  Let me know when his name appears with legitimate suspicion of human trafficking like Biden, Pelosi and the Clintons or is it ok to touch or enslave children as long as you don't misuse money for their well being.

There are no Republicans and Democrats in Washington just two different groups of people trying to take everything in this country they can get.  All while looking out for their real Bosses.  The thing Trump has that they don't is he has his own legit means to make money.  The others sell your everything to get theirs.  Be leary of people with no money offering you free things.

I'm not a person you are going to win this argument with.  I don't care about political character.  You keep trying to attack and aggravate me like you would a Republican, that won't work guy.

I think almost every politician for the last 150+ years is guilty of treason.

Well, if you're just going all "a pox on both their houses," good for you. Not much to say about that.

With respect to the limited question here -- the Uranium One thing -- this administration's hand-picked investigator, the US Attorney for Utah, did an investigation in which he and his team were handed substantial resources, and they found .... nothing.

Except that it is and was public knowledge that it is fact that it happened as well as everything else.  That they were cleared was the worst part about it.  It's sick.  They can do whatever they want and not be held accountable but if you per in public and somebody sees you peeing you'll pay for that the rest of your life.  Try being some young kid that gets pressured into taking packages for a Cartel.  See what happens to you.

Trump's more likely to drown trying to drain the swamp than actually draining it.  Because people like you only look at political party and listen to media that are a part of the swamp.  The only people you can attempt to elect are the choices they put before you.

The founders of this nation created a Republic where you could choose your public servants.

The powers that be modified that system so that you had to have X amount of $ to even appear on the ballot.  So this country has gone from choosing it's servants to picking from their choice of Dictators.

Figure it out people.  They are all bad news for you in some way because the majority are to big of cowards to do anything about it.

Not really... The difference between free speech and brainwashing people into thinking something that isn't. Trump can still Tweet but his tweet have a warning b/c they are all hearsay/false information from the most powerful man in the country that many simple minded folks take as gods law.

First off, as an adult I don’t need a”fact check” on something a politician says...I’m very capable of figuring it out on my own, as I’m sure you are too...

Second, free speech was never intended to only protect speech you liked, or agreed with....the idea was to protect speech you detest and cant stand...it was an agreement between citizens of a free nation that, even though there would be many times when people did not agree, it was more important to the survival of the republic, that ALL speech was permitted (with exception to inciting physical violence)...and yes, my friend, it even includes what you refer to as “brainwashing”...and it’s the freedom of speech that allows us to make the determination, for ourselves, as adults (through debate), whether we believe such speech is  legit “brainwashing” or not...👍

And, boy, am I so grateful for that!

All speech is permitted... THey are not protecting the speech they are protecting the people that might believe something from a very powerful man that some people cling to his every word. Not like it will help then you get people claiming things like you see in this thread over it.

Not one things has been done to say that free speech isnt happening. Do not forget your free speech only goes as far as the rules for that website. You want your own words to not have a warning under them you need to make your own twitter and you have the freedom to do that.

Just like working for a big company... you have free speech but the company also has the right to fire you over that speech. Speech is free but the responsibility that comes with those words are real.

I see this as a disturbing trend in the dumbing down of America.  Now people will be too lazy to figure out what's true and what's not based and rely on what Mommy (Jack) says to believe.  Do you really think its smart to allow social media companies to become the arbiter of truth?  Sounds like a lot of power to give to the greatest invention ever for population control.

It isn't really censorship, it's more of a warning to not take someone's twitter post seriously. Like a warning on a box of cigarettes... Don't worry thought the people that need that warning will ignore it anyway.

Censorship would be not allowing Trump to tweet. Don't forget when you're using a platform like Twitter you are subject to their rules of their program. Just like you are subject to the rules of a stadium when you go to a football game.

So let's circle back to this whole ridiculous Section 230 (liability protections for internet services based on libelous comments made by content providers/commenters) issue.

Mitch McConnell is holding up the Defense spending bill and increased stimulus checks over Trump's demand to that Section 230 repeal be included in any bill(s).

Let's say that passes (it won't).

Who is the first poster to be banned by Twitter?

I say "The Real Donald Trump."

Recently, we had an accusation that the Georgia Secretary of State's brother has worked for China.

Umm, no.  https://www.gpb.org/news/2020/12/30/fact-check-brad-raffenspergers-brother-not-chinese-tech-executive-named-ron

Or how about Trumpy nutcase supporters like this attorney Lin Wood? He's now posting something vile about Chief Justice John Roberts involving his children and Jeffrey Epstein.

If the 230 repeal passes, all of these people (and hundreds like them) can sue Twitter! And probably TBD, which is why banning some of our resident nuts was a perfectly sensible business decision even prior to any repeal.

It'll be the death of the conspiracy theory internet world. Good riddance. But apparently Trump and Co. have no idea that that's what'll happen.
