It is entertaining to read these sort of takes,  pretending the money is theirs is super funny. This the same MO that Beane has used it the past, just look at last off season for the template, it’s all there.

Go Bills!!!

SO im never allowed to say wow that is a bad contract ever because its not my money?

That involves any team from any sport, correct?

If the Bills go out and sign Clowney to a 5 year 115 mil deal this year, im not allowed to comment on it because it is not my money?

Fair enough. Just don't get your hopes up for Norman or you will be sorely disappointed. I'm not questioning McDermott's defensive prowess but he's not a miracle worker. That's an expensive signing just to get a vet in the DB room. Color me extremely skeptical on this one.

My Prediction is he excels in his role is this zone scheme. He's still elite athletically and McDermott won't deal with any clown garbage from him.

Minus the fact that Norman is a liability on the field. to me that is a huge risk.

If he's a liability on the field, he probably won't be on the field.

See this would make sense if his former HC in Ron Rivera wasn't the HC in Washington now.

I actually think they primarily wanted his huge contract off the books. Del Rio does not run the same coverage defense as McD - in Denver he played man and cover one.

So, what you’re saying is that you trust Rivera, whose team floundered after McD left, more than the coach that made Norman into the player who got stupidly overpaid in Washington and was released in order to save Rivera’s team a sizeable amount of money?

Never said that at all.

McDs system comes from the Ron Rivera system, no?

The Panthers floundered because Cam newton fell apart, and its insanely hard to keep good defenses together. but thats for a different topic.

I don't like josh Norman. Id rather not have him.

The Redskins DC is Jack Del Rio. His coverage  schemes are a poor fit for Josh Norman.

He's in great shape, just last year he ran with the bulls in Pamplona. However he is slow. He was ALWAYS slow, his strength shows when he is close to the line of scrimmage.

See now this is good discussion, not just calling me "an idiot" which is 100% true BTW.

It no doubt has to do about the contract, but if he was living up to it, he would not have been cut.

no one can say he was good in Washington, He was allowing some of the highest completion % in teh league the last few years. Whatever the reason, thats not good.

In beane we trust. If Brandon Beane signed a peloton bike for 3 years/ 80 mil to play corner I’d trust him.

The Peloton bike is familiar with McDermott's system!

He was cut because of the contract and because he’s a poor fit for their defensive scheme. No reason to keep him. He didn’t live up to his deal with the previous regime either of course, also a poor fit for that scheme.

I will say this, both Star Loutulelei(sp?) and Kelvin Benjamin were brought in for the very same reasons, and they haven't/did not work out.

I understand Beane getting benefit, but some of the decisions have not been the greatest, especially when it comes to ex-panthers.

because Norman has been bad for the better part of 3 years.

True I'll give you that. But he was also playing man to man often as the #1 cover guy. We've seen some guys are great at one system and stink at another.

He now goes back to the exact system he flourished in and hes being asked to be the #2 guy at most.

Didn’t Ron himself just get cut a short while ago for not doing well for the last couple of years? and then take a job with the crappiest organization in the league?
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if JN asked to be cut just to get out of that sh-t show, knowing he would sign with another team.

Lots of player sucked while playing for the skins. ?

I haven't seen any mention of guaranteed money.   Since he won't get a game check until September, if he flames out at SJF, the team is out just the opportunity cost of having him around.

In the meantime, he can mentor the younger members of the team, just like Mike Tolbert...
