Yes, no process is 100% perfect all the time and the mRNA vaccines are around 94% effective in generating the antibodies in the systems of the population getting vaccinated.  Which means it didn't work for 6% which remain sustainable to the virus.  The risk is not knowing if it worked for you.  An antibody test would determine if it worked on any specific person or if they have "natural" immunity or if they have no antibodies and no immunity.

Yeah.  My brother has an autoimmune disease and we knew he probably wouldn't respond to the vaccine.  He got the antibody test after taking the vaccine and it came back negative (unsurprisingly).

If I'm not mistaken, they are only counting adults.  For The Fake news and Biden to be hailing it as 300 million and some sort of success is a misleading lie (this is red flag #34658 this is a sham) designed as some bizarre political success because this is all political.

140 million Americans are fully vaccinated.

75 to 100 million Americans including kids are not and will not be vaccinated for quite some time.

Whoops.  I meant 318 million doses have been administered and 140 million are fully vaccinated.  Hospitalizations and deaths are the lowest they've been since the disease got over here after the Wuhan research lab let their Frankenstein bat out of the lab.  Sorry about the bad news.

Without to pry, what medication is your brother on?

He has localized digestive scleroderma and relies on a J-tube for feeding.  His symptoms are similar to those with severe gastroparesis.  He's on a crapload of medicine but methotrexate is the main medicine that would prevent him from responding to the vaccine.  He went off it a week before getting the shot.

Biden says the Delta variant - set to become the US's dominant strain - is 'particularly dangerous for young people'

President Biden warned Friday that the Delta variant is "particularly dangerous for young people."

Delta appears to be more transmissible than any other coronavirus strain.

Young people who are unvaccinated and socially active may be more susceptible than others.

Florida Court rules against President CDC:

CDC can't regulate cruises: judge

A federal judge in Florida on Friday ruled that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) coronavirus-era sailing orders were an overreach of power, issuing a preliminary injunction temporarily barring the CDC from enforcing the guidelines.

Judge Steven Merryday for the Middle District of Florida in his ruling sided with the Sunshine State in its argument that the "CDC's conditional sailing order and the implementing orders exceed the authority delegated to CDC."

As a result, Merryday approved Florida's motion for a preliminary injunction suspending the mandatory guidelines for cruise ships, writing that the CDC is "preliminary enjoined from enforcing against a cruise ship arriving in, within, or departing from a port in Florida the conditional sailing order and the later measures."

The injunction will stay in place until July 18, at which point the "conditional sailing order and the measures promulgated under the conditional sailing order will persist as only a non-binding 'consideration,' 'recommendation' or 'guideline,'" as is the case for other industries such as restaurants, railroads and hotels, according to the ruling.

DeSantis, who has long railed against coronavirus safety restrictions, praised the judge's Friday ruling, writing in a statement issued by his office, "The CDC has been wrong all along, and they knew it."

"The CDC and the Biden Administration concocted a plan to sink the cruise industry, hiding behind bureaucratic delay and lawsuits," he continued. "Today, we are securing this victory for Florida families, for the cruise industry, and for every state that wants to preserve its rights in the face of unprecedented federal overreach."

It’s great to see life finally getting back to normal. The thing that makes me nervous   is various states and localities, especially New York State, will be emboldened to shut things down again at the drop of a hat this fall/winter when who-knows-what numbers rise a little bit.

With Dementia Boy in the White House cheering it on most likely :(

Two Americas’ may emerge as Delta variant spreads and vaccination rates drop

With Covid vaccination penetration in the US likely to fall short of Joe Biden’s 70% by Fourth of July target, pandemic analysts are warning that vaccine incentives are losing traction and that “two Americas” may emerge as the aggressive Delta variant becomes the dominant US strain.

Efforts to boost vaccination rates have come through a variety of incentives, from free hamburgers to free beer, college scholarships and even million-dollar lottery prizes. But of the efforts to entice people to get their shots have lost their initial impact, or failed to land effectively at all.

Separately, pandemic researchers are warning that a picture of “two Americas” is emerging – the vaccinated and unvaccinated – that in many ways might reflect red state and blue state political divides.

Only 52% of Republicans said they were partially or fully vaccinated, and 29% said they have no intention of getting a vaccine, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll. 77% of Democrats said they were already vaccinated, with just 5% responding that were resisting the vaccine.

“I call it two Covid nations,” Peter Hotez, a vaccine researcher at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, told BuzzFeed News.

Canada Says Border Won't Fully Reopen Until 75% Vaccination Rate

The U.S. border is unlikely to be completely reopened until 75% of Canadians are fully vaccinated, Canada’s border chief said on Sunday in comments likely to fuel mounting impatience in both countries at the restrictions.

The world’s longest undefended border has been closed to most travel since March 2020. On Friday, Canada extended the restrictions until at least July 21, though it’s expected to announce the easing of some rules Monday for fully vaccinated citizens.

So don't get it you don't want to.  Who cares?

If you don't get the vaccine and catch COVID the good news is hospitals won't be over run and we won't run out of ventilators.

Party like its 1920.

They aren't letting the unvaccinated live normal.  This is a massive problem.

We went from flatten the curve to "everybody should get vaccinated it's super safe."

It's so super safe after allegedly 20 plus years of research that kids under 12 still aren't allowed to take it.  Guess they just need a few more months to figure it out.....then they'll definitely know and know the long term side effects.

Mitigation including any private business requiring a vaccine needs to stop unless a good justification can be given.  At this point the unvaccinated have assessed risk and told nanny state they'll take their chances.  That's their right.  We're done here.

Drop the mask charade they never worked.  And stop with the variants b.s.  Anyone still listening to these people no questions asked has more wrong upstairs then they seem to think Cole Beasely does.

Tears from the right are right on schedule.

In another month, when the variant takes hold, they’ll be claiming that Biden is committing genocide on red states.

They could just get vaccinated and return to normal.

Conservatives being consistent on self independence.

Let's just try and muddle the reasoned responses by calling them "tears"

LOL.

I'm making the assumption you have not been vaccinated.  What can't you do that vaccinated people can?  The Bills I have announced full capacity no vaccine required.  Most baseball teams have done so.  I suspect other businesses to follow suit in the very near term.

As to the bolded are you suggesting the government tell businesses they can't do this? Of course they can. Freedom.  No shirt. No shoes. No service.  Some stores let you bring your dog in, some don't.

I don't care if you get it or not.
