That is obviously the saddest part of the whole thing. We could see 9/11. We can't see this, in significant part because we can't get cameras and reporters into ERs and ICUs (obviously with good reason). This struggle is a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but one thing that might be lost if we don't have a loved one in a hospital is the extent of human suffering and loss that is occurring. It's hard to take the piece seriously, though, when the author castigates the left for calling Trump authoritarian when Trump himself said that he has "absolute authority."
