Lol, ya right. The Republicans, Trump included, hire the immigrants. Literally, they work for Trump.

You guys are all suckers. He knows it. Trump ran a scam Trump University. Then he ran for president and got suckers to vote for him

Every major city in Texas voted blue in 2016 and 2018, and the population has been increasing. Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso are all shifting more an more.

Why do people make such a big deal about this? Can someone lead and not win a thing? I mean I've heard of that happening at least once or twice.

What did you say again about people who can't stop talking about someone or are obsessed with someone? They actually look up to them?

Hillary is your God. Bow down and kiss her feet.

For those here who obviously need things spelled out.................

I posted the polling showing Hillary ahead with 8 weeks before the election, not because of ANY interest in Hillary, but to show that the whole point of Gator's thread

(as well as Gator himself) was foolish.

People her always seem to deflect from the subject of a post, to discuss irrelevancies

Great article!

There is a significant and growing probability that Texas will become the most consequential swing state in presidential and senatorial elections to come. A campaign in the Lone Star State could cost President Trump the White House next year, even if Texas voters will ultimately choose him.

A powerful combination of demographic forces are propelling Texas from one of the reddest states in the union into a swing state. Democrats will likely make an outside play in Texas ahead of 2020, along with a full run for its projected 41 electoral votes. Texas also stands to gain three seats in Congress after the next census, making it a crucial state for both parties.

Texas demographics today are strikingly similar to those of California in 1990, before Democrats began their seven to nothing streak of Golden State victories in presidential races. Like California in 1990, the Texas population currently hovers around 29 million and is changing rapidly in light of heavy immigration from Mexico. The second generation children of Mexican immigrants have played a major role in keeping California out of Republican reach. This same transformation is taking root in Texas.

Meh, All said as a matter of opinion as the title says.  Just because somebody has dark skin does not mean that they will want to suckle on the teat of the Democrats.  Most people in the US regardless of background just want to build a better life and will see that the Democrats are only an impediment to that.

What is really going to blow their little minds is that Trump is polling around 40% with Hispanics.

The left is too wrapped up in intersectional identity victim politics to realize that people who come here legally *really* ***** hate those who jump the border.

Lol, no they see a completely incompetent president and a party that is ignoring his lawlessness and idiocy. When Texas turns Democrat, as California, New Mexico and it looks like Arizona too, did, its over for the Republican Party as now constituted. Just go to 270towin and simply click Texas from red to blue and Dems don't need to pick up another EC vote, they will be at 270 already. Boom!

You speak for Hispanic voters now? Ok! If what you say is true, why did the Blue Wave sweep the GOP from power in the House of Reps? Huh?

1.) I don't speak for anyone. Unlike SJW liberals, I believe that people can speak for themselves, and don't need 'whitey' to come charging to their rescue... from 'whitey'.

2.) Yes, the 'blue wave' that also lost two seats in the Senate, further extending the GOP majority in the grown up chamber of Congress. Real victory that was!

3.) You're still an idiot.

GOP anxiety over Texas spikes after retirements, Democratic gains

A rising GOP star announced he would not seek reelection at a time when changing demographics and a wave of liberal activism have given new hope to Democrats.

What it looks like as the biggest impediment to Democrats turning a Texas permanently Blue is taking power at the state level and making voting registration and voting itself easier. Once Dems win once, it will all be over. The demographics of Texas is very similiar to California, it's just voting registration and participation of certain Democratic voters is lagging.

Imagine that, liberals flocking to a place like Texas that has zero state income tax and big oil.  Hypocrats.

The Electoral College would very heavily favor the Democratic party. Without a single other state Trump won in 2016, the Democratic candidate will have 270 EC votes.

38 EC votes. Two polls right now have the race a dead heat there with Trump and Biden.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/tx/texas_trump_vs_biden-6818.html

Obama lost Texas by 16 points in 2012. Hillary lost by 9 in 2016. Beto lost by 2% in 2018 and the Demographics of the state are changing very fast.

Even better, the Democrats are getting out the vote (increasing the number of their voters) faster than the population of Democratic leaning voters. Arizona, New Mexico and yes, California have all followed a similar pattern. California and Texas actually have about the same Hispanic population percentage. So just turning out the vote right now would do it, but the demographic shifts are making all this happen faster.

....whoa!!...thought they were advocating getting rid of the Electoral College and solely going with popular vote.....need to change the rules when you're sore azz losers.....and render the voice of less populated states as meaningless.....how effin' noble........

I'm going to love having those 38-42 EC votes in the Dem column! Might not be 2020, but it's a coming. Bye bye GOP as we know it. Lol.

Since those states either have the poor or minorities or both then those states are chit hole states for that reason is what you are saying?  People that normally vote Democrat?  You'll never go far in the Democratic Party as even the most loyal and wild eyed Democrat realizes that they need the bogeyman to come out once in a while to point at.  Without said bogeyman then the prevailing party becomes the bogeyman in the eyes of the average voter.  The excuse of "things have not improved under our tenure because the other guy made it that bad" only plays with the voters for a limited time.  Both parties need the other for their continued existence.
