Good timing for me!  I’m in Scotland with my wife. Spending a few weeks touring around and looking at scenery, castles, ruins, distilleries, beautiful women with pale complexions and reddish-brown hair, eating fish and chips, wishing we golfed, etc.

The temperature is in the 60’s and low 70’s. Perfect. Very little rain so far.  Just finished the first week of three weeks.

(middle finger emoji here!!!!!!!)

Justy kidding sounds awesome..have never been!

my pool water is as warm as bath water. I at least like the water around 85-86 degrees where it will cool you off, my pool water reads 93 and approaching 94 degrees fast. Hope for some rain to cool that ***** off!

When we lived in Hilton Head a Savannah radio station had a contest for 1,000 pounds of ice for your community pool. When the water gets TOO warm it’s nasty. Where we lived in Florida the club pool had some geothermal well to warm it in the winter, but also cool it in the summer. That was AWESOME!

I cuss the leaves in fall, but praise the trees this time of year. My pool only gets direct sunlight for 2-3 hours per day. Water temperature stays perfect all summer, though it does take longer than normal to warm up to a comfortable temp in the spring.

It’s 10:15pm and 88 degrees outside. All I need is a pool! I MISS MY POOL! And a hammock inside a lanai/screened porch. Fall is nice, but I know what happens after that!  Months and months of nasty

I walked the park and played tennis for about two+ hours a day this week, starting at roughly noon. Temps in the 90’s. Easy to work up a sweat and get limber. What a glorious week!

Damn, the pollen thread reminded me of how much I hate freaking summer! Last 3 days in the '90s, next 4 days after today all 95+ with humidity...and we got 3 more months of this crap!

No freaking sports to watch, reminded every day how fat I am as no sweaters or hoodies to hide behind, watering plants EVERY FREAKING DAY so they don't die, water bills through the yazoo for the lawn....,,, there is just absolutely zero, and I do mean zero, that is redeeming about a Mid Atlantic summer(well, except hot sweaty girls with clingy shirts on the metro). By far the worst 3 months on the calendar just.... get me to freaking September already..Even August and pre season football gives me hope. June and July...urghhhhhhhh

it's almost over. no worries, in a couple of weeks you won't be able to wear white again until Memorial Day next year.

We've had lots of rain the past two years. Unusually cool temperatures mixed with high temps and extreme humidity.

It took me three dips in the pool to finish mowing just now. If I had mowed on Wednesday, I may have worn sleeves.

Well, that was quick. Summer is almost over now. Seems like it flew by pretty quick. My kids go back to school in 2 weeks.

School started a week ago here! I’ll never get used to that. It’s unnatural to start before Labor Day!

It was 92 at the tennis courts today, with a feel like of 103. Glorious, I tell you! To be honest, I only love that heat if I’m meant to sweat, like tennis or yard work. Then? The more sweat the better!  I’d MUCH play tennis in 90 degrees than 60.   If I’m trying to get from the car to my office without sweating thru a suit in the heat, or into the grocery store? Not so much....

Football is good, too.  The only thing is that is a lead in to snow and cold weather.

Ahh, 95 at the courts today, felt like 107.

OK, THAT was pushing it! Frayed strings I thought had about 10 minutes left, but I had backup racquets. The damn things just wouldn’t break! I get them strung at a place in Buckhead next to a place with my favorite tacos in town, so I really wanted them to break! I love taco day! Due to the heat I would have quit after an hour with the backup, but it just wouldn’t break! Just shy of 2 hours feeling like 107 degrees.

I need a pool!

Been nice here.  Only 75°.  Had a hot spell.  Dry spell.  Rather bearable.

I haven't mowed my lawn in a month with the dry spell.

LoL...

The Chem Lawn guy gave me a lecture and slip of paper when he did the last application.

It said: "It takes teamwork!  Tips on watering, yada yada yada."

I sent a paper check back with the sheet saying:

"Thanx for the advice, I don't need any advice.  ~Signed, @Chef Jim"

LMAO... No honestly... I wrote back:

THANKS!  You pay the water bill.  Our lawn will be fine... Drought makes you stronger.  I don't expect miracles... I am NOT one of those unreasonable customers.  Keep up good work."

Anyway... I am in an average working class neighborhood... Grass is just a weed.

I know... This is what my wife says.  I am hooked though... Really not a bunch of chemicals... Just fertilizer applications like 4 times a year (I can never be regular).  Like 30 bucks a pop.

Yes, you’re good.

Always reference @DC Tom and you call any deserving poster an idiot. It’s in the bible..

90* here in drought stricken S. WV.

I have not mowed the lawn since Aug 15

I've done it twice in that time .... half the yard needs it, the other half is summer brown

I went away for 5  days so I figured, I might as well

then I didn't have to worry when I got home
