AJ is going to miss some time with his injury. With 2 preseason games left and only 2 healthy QBs we will need to bring in someone. List of FA QBs available:

Derek Anderson

Kellen Clemens

Matt Moore

Mark Sanchez

Scott Tolzien

TJ Yates

Josh Johnson

Zac Dysert

Jerod Evans

Colin Kaepernick

My top choice is Derek Anderson. I'm not looking for someone to compete, I just want someone to come in with real NFL QBing experience to mentor Josh Allen and Nate Peterman.

I would love to see Kap, but he's being blackballed... Teddy Bridgewater would be a great Vet that can come in to play, but I don't think the Jets give him to us for cheap...

It's only 2-3 weeks... just let it ride out for now... get someone in for the practice squad. If not, then Matt Moore is the last option

Wrong player named in the post lol

This is a good, and timely, topic. There are 2 schools of thought. You could go with a guy like Matt Moore that may be your #2. You also could go with a young guy that maybe is a PS guy. It will depend on cuts for that though. If I had to pick I’d probably sign Moore and let him compete with Peterman.

Matt Moore and Derek Anderson are the guys who have played for Daboll, so I think they make the most sense.

To do what though? Neither guy is likely to sign cheap to be 3rd string for a few weeks. Only reason to do that is if you're worried about Peterman.

Seriously?  You realize Kap hasn't taken a snap since 2016 and Smith hasn't played for the Jets since 2016 as well right?

Practice arm really. It depends on the severity of the injury to McCarron. If he has to IR you need another guy. Both are vet minimum guys so they should be cheap. It's not like there is huge competition for their services right now.

That Colin guy definitely seems like a process guy to me....smh.?

Seriously, why put his name on the list? The dude has his own agenda and playing football isn’t on his list.

How long will McCarron be out for? Probably just a few weeks.

That means you bring a scrub in. Peterman/Allen will split the duties next Sunday and the scrub will play week 4 then get cut.

We just need a body to finish out the pre-season.

No it is not just a body.  It is a potential QB in case another one gets injured during year which is why I prefer a vet.
