But the teams recrods were actually a little better than you recall and the score was different. Bills were 7-6 and Edwards had taken the job by that point and the browns were 8-5. Score was 8-0. Awful game to watch. Lol. The kicker is the browns finished a very solid 10-6 and STILL missed the playoffs that year. OUCH. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200712160cle.htm Ah yes we were making one last drive for a measly 8 points. Every first down was a nail biter "holy **** we got another one". It was fascinating how bad we were yet were scrapping to the 30 Juaron gives the okay on 4th and 8 screen. Game over. Family laughs at me for thinking the Bills were ever making the playoffs. Even with the loss that drive had me glued to the TV. Thought football was awesome. That was a good Browns team too. Derek Anderson was top 10 statistically that year, Jamal Lewis, Kellen Winslow II was a good TE, braylon Edwards, Joe jurevicious. Wonder what was going through Browns' fans heads could imagine. They ran out the exact same offense the year after and EVERYBODY sucked. I thought they were going to rule the AFC.

CA OC Bills Fan
Absolutely. I grew up in Rochester. My two best friends were Dolphins fans. Actually, I didn't know many Bills fans in Rochester back in the 70's (I was born in '60). My father was a Bills fan and an Orioles fan (Rochester Red Wings were the AAA farm team of the Orioles while I was growing up). My mother was also a rabid Bills fan. My parents had an antenna on our roof where we could at least sometimes get a grainy picture of the Bills games from either Buffalo (if not blacked out) or Syracuse when they were on. Or, we'd have the radio on to listen to the games. in the '90s, when games were blacked out, my parents would go to the Garage Door (a bar / restaurant that used to be a few miles from their house) to watch the games. My father turns 94 this August and I'm very fortunate to still have him. My mother passed away 2 years ago. Her last training camp that she went to was either 3 or 4 years ago. My father still makes it to camp most summers, he wouldn't go on his own, but either me or one of my brothers or nephews will be in town at some point during camp and will want to go and he's always up to go with us. I started taking each of my kids to a Bills Backers bar in Orange County CA when each turned 8 weeks old. I kept taking them every week for several years. They're now about to turn 20 and 16. Unfortunately, even though I tried my hardest, neither is really into football. I think if asked, they both would say the Bills are their favorite team, but in actuality, they don't really care. Happy Fathers Day.

MattM
Definitely. My dad grew up upstate and all his family were Giants fans, as was he until 1960. When the AFL came along he was all in, especially about the Bills. Some of my parents’ first dates were Bills games. My first game was at the Rockpile during its last year. (A loss to the Johnny U led Colts, 17-0–we got blanked by the same score the next game I went to, too. It took my 3rd game vs the Butkus Bears to see point and a W.) He passed away 2 years ago and is a big reason why I’ll be crying tears of joy for both of us when they eventually win it all.....
stony
He most certainly was. So I guess in a roundabout way, he's responsible for my drinking problem. Thanks dad. Edited June 18, 2018 by stony 2

Buffalo86
My Dad's an Eagles fan, but he took me to my first Bills game (vs the Eagles) when I was 13 and joined me in rooting against his own team.
Original Byrd Man
My aunt and uncle were season ticketholders from the beginning and they would bring me to a game occasionally.
BillsWest
My dad, nope, he didn't like sports at all. I guess just living near Buffalo from age 1 to 8 made me a fan. Ironically I was born in Florida, but my older brother is the Dolphins fan. I had a lot of bad years in a row when the Bills played his team. I'm now 55 and living in Northern CA, and still a huge fan. I do see some Buffalo Bills stickers on vehicles now and then.

Gray Beard
My dad is the reason I’m a football fan. He was a Giants fan. My father in law is a Giants fan. I broke with tradition to become a Bills fan. My kids are Bills fans.

Maynard
Oh absolutely! My dad was a diehard and passed away a few months ago. We always always discussed the Bills. He had season tickets for the large majority of his life going back to the rock pile
GoBills!
Yes. I was at the greatest comeback in history we stayed the whole. I think because my dad was too drunk to drive back to Rochester. But that was the bug turning point that I started watching every game. My kids are allowed to pick their team my son likes the broncos. I can't but the buffalo emotional rollercoaster on him. LewPort71
Yes. In the early '60s Dad and Co-worker shared season tickets so I attended many games at The Rockpile. My parents were big sports fans and my love of sports was inherited from them. Games at the War Memorial were an adventure in the early '60s.
