If we stay at 12 im not drafting a QB. I like Jackson but this staff wants a pocket passer.

Use the 9 picks to strengthen the roster.

If there is one thing I’m sure it’s that we have no idea what the staff wants.

Acquiring the 12th pick was genius, keeping it is just as smart.  Unloading the first half of our premier picks and "other picks" for one of the QBs in this draft seems a bit goofy and Ditka-ish.

It is curious to me why so many here feel we should overpay for a QB, in a class of QB's that many say is overrated.  Yet, this is the beauty of the NFL and message boards like this.  We are not the one's making the decisions, thankfully.

I agree with all of this.

Give me Rashaan Evans at 12 and Mason Rudolph at 22. Sit Rudolph down behind McCarron for the next 2 years.

sit him behind Joe freakin' Montana for 8 years if you want. He's never going to be a decent NFL QB.

Here is the Top 11 as I currently see it:

Browns - Sam Darbold

Giants - Saquon Barkley

Jets - Josh Rosen

Browns - Minkah Fitzpatrick

Broncos - Quinten Nelson

Colts - Bradley Chubb

Buccaneers - Denzel Ward

Bears - Trumaine Edmunds

49ers - Derwin James

Raiders - Roquan Smith

Dolphins - Vita Vea

if this scenario plays out I see no real reason to give up draft capital with needs at MLB, OL, WR, CB, to move up higher with Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson available.

I would take Allen or Jackson at 12 and hope Leighton Vander Eshe or Rashean Evans is available at 22

You really think the Dolphins pass on Allen, Mayfield, and Jackson? No way.

I could get on board with this.  I think Rudolph could be pretty good.

based on what? Did you watch him play? Study film? Understand the system he was in?

What makes you think Mason Rudolph is going to be good?

Fans only know two names: Rosen and Darnold.

Let's just sit here and gush over the two QB prospects that are going 1 and 2 overall! Great idea!

Want, want, want and want all you want, it's never going to happen.

Can we talk about QBs that we actually have a shot at drafting? Can we do that?

I believe McCarron is a better bet than Allen, Mayfield, Jackson or Rudolph, so if Rosen and Darnold are out of reach, stay at 12, go to work on the linebackers, WRs and Oline.

Based on what? I mean, he might be, but who really knows? He hasn't been able to unseat a middling QB in Dalton, though.

Sure. Jackson. Maybe Mayfield. Even Allen. But if the Bills draft Mason Rudolph with anything more than their 2nd second-round pick, the Bills have blown it. And I have actually studied these QBs...so I'm not just "sayin' what I heard" somewhere else.

If we wanted a QB like Jackson, we would have kept Tyrod. Allen and Mayfield? Wishful thinking, but a slight chance, but unlikely. Both could be gone in the top 5. Browns, Giants, Jets and Broncos all need QBs, if we were going to trade up, we would have done it already.

This is the correct course of action right now if the Giants won't trade out.  Tell all teams picking 6-11 anyone comes at you with a trade offer for you to trade down, we can better it.

I would still try for 4th pick, but wouldn't give up more then 12, and one 2nd.

lol in what way are Jackson and Tyrod similar, besides them both being black??

And just because we haven't panicked like the Jets doesn't mean we still won't move up. Better to wait for the workouts and draft day.

I understand that you're confused, NewDay. That's obvious.

They both tend to hold the ball too long and rely on the scramble to make up for slow progressions.

Just playing scenarios here and still hope we move up to get a qb.  But what if OBD thinks price is too steep to move up to #1 or #2 to get ahead of jets. I dont think its to bad staying at 12 and doing something like this.

12. Edmunds or smith - LB

22. Lamar Jackson - QB

53. James Daniels - C

56. Chirstian Kirk - WR

65. Tim Settle - DT

I would be really happy with this.  Have lamar and aj in camp and battling it out.

Lamar won't make it to 22!!

I would throw in the low 3rd rounder just because there will be competition for the pick

For the poster who said 4 QB's are going in the first 4 picks, who is going to trade up to 4 with Cleveland and specify the team and what they would give up.

Something to keep in mind, know the market, the draft capital, current team needs post free agency before you make a post that makes no sense.

If Denver is sold on a QB, they very easily could give Cleveland a 3rd rounder, maybe a conditional 2019 pick to flip picks.  Cleveland gets the exact same player, Denver makes sure no one else moves up.

Also, if you are going to call posters out, it helps to reply to their posts.

I think you're the one that is confused my friend. I'd be shocked if Jackson was the guy, he's a sandlot QB like Tyrod. I think we want a rhythmic pocket passer, a QB that beat you with their brain and their arm, I don't see that in Jackson.

If we do take Jackson though, you're damn right I'd be confused. Tyrod would have been the perfect bridge for Jackson.

I stand by Rudolph btw. Not sure where he goes or where other teams value him, but he is going to be a good pro.

One of two things happened with this Jets trade:

1. The Colts valued #6 over anything Buffalo could offer. This probably only makes sense if they badly want Chubb/Barkley still or if they think they'll be able to trade down again from #6 to to get even more assets

2. The Bills didn't want to move up to #3. This would seem to imply that they have a smaller move up in their plans, though I guess the idea of jumping up to #2 can't be completely written off.

Interesting thought here. If the Colts are looking for additional draft assets, 6 could still  be in play for us and that would give us more ammo to make a deal with the Giants at 2 who would still be able to get one of the blue chip targets at the top of the draft.

What makes you think Mason Rudolph is going to be good?

I am not a professional scout, but yes i’ve watched Rudolph’s games on draftbreakdown.com.  He is big, 3 year starter, highly productive, reportedly very smart and a leader and reportedly a hard worker.  Additionally, most of the draft pundits have him on the border between 1st and 2nd round.  QBs are always drafted higher than projected due to demand exceeding supply.
