Does this indicate that the Bills are starting to address their "other than QB" needs through free agency? If so, they may be considering packaging their first rounds picks to move up to take a QB in Round 1. I still hope that they will NOT do this. Better to use the picks to get a 1st round Center and Pass Rusher.

This is a triple positive:

1.) Fills a position of need before free agency even starts.
2.) Does not count against the Bills in the compensatory pick formula.
3.) If he DOES do well and walk away after 1 year, it works in the Bills' FAVOR in the compensatory pick formula.

Great work by the front office in being proactive and crossing a need off the list before March hits.

Good decision by the front office. I don't see it as more at this time. I'm sure we will add another corner, I don't expect that to be a 1st rounder. Davis is a nice layer in that equation,  has boom potential but we need a few more layers for depth and the potential for bust.

No, it doesn't indicate that. The only thing it really indicates is that they probably won't re-sign EJ Gaines, or draft a CB on day one. But even then, who knows?

I agree, tho; my preference is to use both 1st Rd picks on the interior lines. My broad assessment of the team would be, in order from best to worst:

"We can stop the pass. We can almost run. We can almost stop the run. We can't really pass."

Theoretically, improved OL and DL gets you to:

"We can stop the pass. We can run. We can stop the run. We can almost pass."

Then, whether through personnel or scheme changes, if the QB/WR situation can be even a little more consistent than last year, I think a lucky 9-win team can become a solid 11-win team.

trading away draft capital for any of the Quarterbacks in this draft would be an anti-Viagra shot to me.  None of them are Luck or Wentz.

More often than not it takes three years to develop a good talent into a good Quarterback.  As you well know in this age of instant gratification, every single loss there will be a lynch mob formed for the incumbent, demanding the Rook be played.  Then after one bad game will come the claims of bust.

Nah, give me a Dtackle and a LB,  it takes 8 sometimes 9 games before the bust declaration.

No get the best QB,  you are one of those fools living in the past.  You need a QB to win in this league,  everything else is second

I think it means that they will not re-sign Gaines

Totally agree with you on this one...I am just not that impressed with this draft class. Not enough to bet the farm with two 1st round picks.
