Paul Costa Posted January 27, 2018 Share Posted January 27, 2018 I’m a little surprised that McDaniels is taking the Indy job. There were several higher profile jobs available. It seems that they are in total rebuild and that’s what he wants. I guess he doesn’t want another Denver debacle. That being said they have the third pick in the draft. If their QB is there do they trade Andrew Luck. His future is realistically cloudy. And if this is a possibility do the Bills offer our two first round picks for Luck. It is a big risk giving up that much for damaged goods. Although many will think this is a no brainer for Buffalo or Indy will want a lot more in return. Not sure about that . Doesn’t seem like McDermott and Beene are risk takers? I personally wouldn’t want to give up more than that for Luck and his recent history ? Don't think there would be any question with Beane either. The problem is will anybody really trust that he is healthy? Big decision for Indy, has it already been made? The Detroit Lions are in a division where only 1 team appears to be a serious contender year in/year out - the Green Bay Packers. And that will only last a couple of more years with Aaron Rodgers. The NFC East has Wentz in Philly and Zeek/Dak in Dallas, and they all just entered the league. If I'm a coach, I don't want to have to compete vs that 4 games every season. I would in a second as a Bills fan. It makes some sense for the Colts too if the Giants or Browns don’t go QB. They can get Rosen or Darnold, their LT and 3 1sts. They do have a good draft spot but he would still be responsible for having to deal with the Eli situation. He would be taking a job which would automatically have a controversy at the QB position with the debate of keeping the aging Eli, drafting a QB, and cutting Eli, or keeping Eli, drafting a QB and then answering QB questions for the next 2 seasons after every press conference. The Lions have their QB and they're in a division that might be easier to win in the coming years. That's just how I view it. I think for the price tag you just mentioned we could get the #1 overall pick....at the very least 2 overall. I’d rather do that and take our own guy than Luck.
