It's just funny how certain players off field stuff remains a thing more than others.

This is true. "High motor" players get breaks around here.

I believe you missed the point. Promo wasn't writing about what the league thinks of Lil Kelly but rather the double standard some posters around here apply to, say, Dareus, who they want to cut because of off-field behavior while arguing that a proven lout like Kelly ought to be given "another chance." Can I get a "Hmm"?

I think the concerns are valid. I would argue that a lot of that sentiment is actually directed at "stupid" mistakes vs drug-related stuff but LeSean's issue was some dumb party invite and a fracas with some cops so you'd think Kelly's public pwning by a pornstar and threats to shoot people with a machine gun would land him in the same boat - nope.

Are you saying that Kelly will get a pass because he's white? That's ridiculous, the kid might not even get drafted and has been kicked out of multiple programs. Doesn't really look like special treatment to me

This is not me agreeing, but I believe he's call YOU someone who is showing a double standard. Not people in general

@salsports

Video: Eric Wood, who broke his leg in early November, being nimble. Then Sammy stretching:

https://twitter.com/salsports/status/848910692057010178

just saw McD presser scheduled at noon

Wood looks like very nimble and appears to have lost weight.

It is good that the team gets to see players moving to see how well they have been doing on conditioning.

I remember when Branch got a new contract he would not show up for volunteer sessions saying he was working out at home and when he got to training camp was unable to pass fitness test. All players should have some sort of clause in contract to pull back signing bonuses if you do not show up in reasonable shape.

for weight lifting and other exercises? There's no football at all

Yes but off-season is not supposed to be for marathon eating and 16 hour cat naps.

Chad Kelly we keep giving chances to but productive players like Shady we give snark. Why is that?

Sharks respect sharks and snarks respect snarks.

<p>

Right so what's the big deal with not being there then, Not like he's missing anything on the field.

Phase One/ 4 Hrs

  • Two Weeks | Limited To Strength And Conditioning Activities (Dead Ball); Only Strength And Conditioning Coaches Allowed On Field
  • 90 Minute Max On The Field
  • Clubs Can Only Specify 2 Hours For Players To Be At Facility
  • Players Choose The Other 2 Hours For Weights, Etc
Hes the only one not there on a tesm that's desperately trying to undo losing ways and turn this franchise around. You dont think a millionaire athlete could have held his childs birthday party a day early in order to take part in team activities that has been arrainged for a while now? Also its 4 hours how long is the birthday party all day? He could have done both in the same day. Edited by Bill_with_it

Geez guys; it's voluntary.

He's missing stretching and working out.

Would I prefer he's there? Yes. Would the HC? I'm sure.

Is anyone--his teammates and coaches included--worried about the fact that he's not attending a voluntary workout where zero football-related activity takes place? Nobody except some of the folks on this board.

I have a kid i have missed her birthday 4 times, missed my wifes 5 times, missed our anniversary 4 times, christmas 3 times.

Okay. Did you have to miss those events or did you choose to? Shady choose family over a voluntary work thing.

great example....the new ceo at your workplace has a team bonding scheduled of which you had several weeks notice.

you tell em your busy....good luck with that.

As Watkins said, Y'all back to your little jobs" trying to compare the "normal" work environment to the NFL is ridiculous. If you didn't ' show up for an OTA at your place of employment would it be hotly debated by 50 strangers? The NFL is not the real world. Does anyone pay you 8 million a year so that 80,000 of their friends can come get drunk off their ass and watch you shuffle papers?

that must be some birthday party......going on for 2 days now and counting

You have probably never been to those kinds of parties, have you?

Well Shady just eliminated himself from the team Leadership Council , he's not all in

Shady has his own leadership council, he just buys the Oline expensive watches. Edited by iinii

A lot of us don't seem to remember how those 90s Bills, especially the great ones, were notorious for skipping voluntary workouts.

Short term memory, full term complaining.

It's more symbolic than practical. 60 of 61 players demonstrated they cared enough to be there.

But there's a practical side too. We have a new coach. I'm sure he's carefully crafted his first words to the team in his effort to start laying the foundation of a new culture and new way of doing things. Shady missed that.

And he's still the best player on the team and will continue to contribute the most. Feel free not to cheer come September.

...probably.....entering year 55 following these boyz, I'm a traditional old fart hoping that a new beginning with McCoach means a different outlook....but then again, we're talking overpaid divas who do whatever the hell they want....sorry for the rant.........

55 years?? Do you remember the 90s? You must have really hate those guys.

Oh and btw, Adrian Peterson, Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, and Peyton Manning all skipped voluntary workouts at some point.

NONE OF THEM ARE LEADERS!
