Dunno why no team is going after Kyle Shanahan with what the guy did with that Atlanta offense this year.

The Rams are looking at Wade Phillips as their new DC.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports new Rams coach Sean McVay is "hoping" to hire Wade Phillips as defensive coordinator.

Going on 70, Phillips remains one of the most respected defensive minds in the league. He'd be inheriting some highly-intriguing pieces in Los Angeles, though also many more holes than he had in Denver. Phillips also employs a 3-4 defense, while the Rams were 4-3 under coaches Jeff Fisher and Gregg Williams.

Wade Phillips uses a 4-3 or 3-4 depending on personnel and opponent; he is not a fixed scheme coach,

I remember when Lane Kiffin was a young up and coming HC too. Why not give these guys a few years to prove themselves and gain experience?

Same reason you don't take only seniors in the draft

Sometimes you have to get talent where it's available and that isn't always a bad thing

Broncos don't have to let him go. It is a lateral move.

If they do, does Elway's FO officially become dysfunctional and worse than ours?

his contract was up and Elway was talking extension. He wanted to wait until a HC was hired before signing it. Apparently Elway hired someone who Wade felt wasn't a good fit.
