Gugny
You really believe that he was not throwing Rex under the bus before the decision was made? He is just saying that "he was not privy to that conversation" - that does not answer the question about his involvement. He is parsing words in the tradition of Bill Clinton. Update: He just said he did not have input. I do not believe that at all. He didn't have input in hiring him; why would he have it in firing him? BaaadThingsMan
Is it the Bills fault or is the press contributing to the clown show nature of the presser? Whaley just isnt a very good speaker, regardless of the subject.

sullim4
Scott Berchtold should be fired. This is even worse than I thought it might be.
WEATHER DOT COM
Whaley and Terry watch every single game together. It's absurd to imagine they never talked about the coach...

Chilly
As Kevin Massare said on Twitter, Rex reported right to The Pegulas. He was fired by the Pegulas. How is this hard to understand? We're actually fixing our organization structure to be the way it *SHOULD* be, putting our GM in charge of everything. It's pretty clear Whaley didn't want Rex, and that's why Whaley gets his shot now to hire his own coach.
Reed83HOF
Will Brinson @WillBrinson 56s56 seconds ago How can the GM of a professional football team claim with a straight face he doesn’t know why the former head coach of the team was fired? Albert Breer @AlbertBreer 41s41 seconds ago ... So the GM wasn't part of the decision to fire the coach, then the interim coach wasn't part of the call to bench the QB. LB3
Throwing the owners under the bus seems like a poor survival strategy. There is no way he's throwing the Pegulas under the bus without their approval. If he is, he's gone by the end of the day.

Peter
Of course you don't, why would you? I do not believe that a GM of ANY NFL organization would have no input to ownership regarding the head coach.
