Trump Alone at the Top

Recommended Posts

You're entire hope here is pinned on the idea that Trump comes with "big question marks."

He does if you don't know anything about him. If you DO know anything about him, you'd know there are no question marks. He's got a long history that is pretty much everything you're 'hoping' he's not.

He is, by his own words, a big government, pro choice, pro Obamacare, anti-gun NY liberal who says what people want to hear because he knows most of you are too stupid to think for yourself.

He's no question mark. He's a whiter shade of Obama. He's Hillary without a vagina. If you paid any attention, you'd know this.

No one knows what Trump is, not even Trump. His "policies" have internal inconsistencies and his public statements usually contradict each other. He's a moron .

I wish he was smart enough to be liberal but his only genius comes from being a better Khardashian. He knows how to spell T-R-U-M-P. The only time he sounds articulate on the trail is when he describes where he just was "Just came from Trump Towers Vegas, a best in class luxury..." Etc.

Problem is the mindless Trumpsters eat him up. Intellect and policy have no place in his voting base.

If you watch Fox News and listen to Rush it's not too far to Glenn Beck and once there Alex Jones starts to seem reasonable - I was just talking to a Trump supporter and here is what I learned 1. there are 200,000 Muslim terrorist in the US (that Obama has flown in) just waiting to make their move, 2. Obama is selling all our farmland to China 3. If our Grandmother's fell in the street, children today would just walk by and laugh or just take video because there is no prayer in schools and spanking is illegal. 4. Trump is going to fix all that ****

It is sad that the Republicans are putting him up and giving people excuses to ignore the grievous nature of the grave spitting reprobate that the Dems are nominating. It has been their strategy all along to point fingers at the nominated R. With the help of he press and people trying to sound "intellectual" as demonstrated by the post above, it was always going to be easy to try. Trump makes it easier.

Hillary being smarter than Trump doesn't excuse her behavior but in my post, within the Trump thread, I was attacking Trump.

It's possible to see both candidates as bad. Just focusing on the one I deem worse, although arguing which one is better is more of an intellectual circle jerk than a discussion with a positive outcome.

Worse than lying to the parents of fallen heroes and then calling them the liars is a high high barrier. Being willing to overlook the egregious nature of that offense and what it says about her willingness to do more shows a lot.

The Dems strategy for years has been to call their opposition stupid, crazy, racist or evil....or a combination. Trump will be called all of the above in some combination. Every person who has ever walked the face of the planet has has some level stupidity or craziness. Sadly probably most have done something evil or racist. Even Romney held a guy down and gave him a haircut. This will always be a viable strategy.

The fact that you fall for the sacrosanct nature of the "Hillary is the smartest woman in the world" claptrap speaks volumes. Does a smart person lie to the face of fallen heroes parents and leave an email trail on an unsecured server as proof of her lies? Lucky for her there are an lot of people desirous of looking the other way. Not just willing. Desirous. It is disgusting. But if you keep looking the other way you won't ever have to see it.

Careful you don't burn the straw man.

Like most thoughtful people, I'm faced with a dilemma: Trump, Clinton, or other. I've voted other before but see Trump as the most dangerous person to ever get this close to the button. So I feel the need not to waste my other vote and will likely vote for Hillary. What she did on Benghazi pales in comparison to the danger I see in Trump.

And I can't $%^ing stand Hillary. You won't see me support her. I'll just vote for her.

Voting for her is supporting her by definition. And that's no straw man about her being the smartest woman alive. I've been hearing it for YEARS.

What she did in Benghazi doesn't pale in comparison to anything. It shows a willingness to do far more. And it is merely an example, by no means the only occurrence.

I had long hoped she would not run for president once Obama defeated her. I knew she was running the instant she started screaming nonsensical rants at the Benghazi committee. That was my reaction when I saw that tirade....oh crap, she actually is running for president. If she weren't running she might have answered like a normal person but her agenda showed itself. If you really don't like her you should be more discerning, because the Benghazi rant *100 is what goes on behind doors when she is faced with pressure. Is that someone you want with "the button" as you put it? The only difference between her and Trump that might make her safer with the button, at least in the face of Russia, is that her economic philosophies line up with theirs. That's it. That's all. A thoughtful person would have thought of that.

Don't worry tough, you'll get her. The press boat raced Trump to the finish line either because they are complete idiots like Sean Hannity or in the case of more traditional Dem press types knew he could be easily defeated by running the same playbook.

If you expect me to passionately defend my decision to vote for Clinton over Trump, you'll wait a long time.

You've already done it, albeit while trying not to sound passionate and behind a cloud of excuses. It's not Trump. Regardless of who the R's nominated you'd have been here saying "I don't want to vote for Hillary but X is the most Y candidate I have ever seen". It is chapter 8 of the Dem playbook and it is not hard to figure out.

If you can wrap your head around voting for her under any circumstances you can justify it against anyone.

Voting for her is supporting her by definition.

So we now face the rhetoric on both sides.

Voting for Hillary is supporting her, but according to those too stupid to see Trump for what he is, not voting for Trump is supporting her as well.

In fact, the Trumpsters are all over social media today crying that when Trump loses it will be because of the #neverTrump people.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Hopefully the Enquirer has some good stories on Hillary to keep this entertaining. I won't vote for Hillary, but the GOP is dead to me.

I was talking to a Trump supporter, but not about politics, we just decided there was no point. But then I said something non-political about a topic and said, "Oh, that dude thinks Bigfoot is real!! Ha ha."

She snapped, "I believe in Bigfoot!" And was kind of annoyed.

I said nothing about voting for Trump.

The Republican party deserves Trump because they asked for him. They have ignored and frozen out anyone who is against their Boehner/McCain/McConnell/Jeb/Ryan crowd for many years. i have a hard time lumping Romney in that group because I think he is actually a good person on some level. All the others I listed do not fit that category IMO. Most who start as outsiders like Rubio and Christie, are weak and quickly fall into line. The masses had had enough and it set up for an outsider...as it turns out, most likely Cruz. But it was so far gone that all that had to happen was someone loud had to come in and claim he was even more of an outsider.....Trump. Literally all he had to do was get up on stage, and be crass to Meghan Kelly. Dolts like Hannity immediately fell in line.

It doesn't matter that Trump really isn't an outsider, that he barely knows the difference between liberal and conservative, that he knows little to nothing about the founding principles, or that the only thing he knows or cares to know is that he is the greatest man to ever grace the planet. He loudly said he was the furthest outside and it worked. Because the party had ripened itself for this to happen. They deserve this. America doesn't deserve it.

A vote for Trump is a vote saying it is ok for him and his ego to do whatever it wants whether that aligns with the founding principles of our country or not. A vote for Hillary.....whose party btw was just as ripe for an outsider but did a better job of squelching it.....is a vote for someone who does in fact understand the founding principles.....and disagrees with them.....and who also throws in a smattering of ego for good measure....and who is being allowed to skate by the FBI for transgressions so blatantly stupid, dangerous and purposeful that they ought to eliminate her from anywhere but jail....and more.

A non-vote gets you a front row seat to America finally stopping it circling of the drain and instead just going down. Vote for Trump...bad choice. Vote for Hillary....bad choice. Vote for some 3rd.....silly choice. Don't vote.....bad choice.

I'd rather be on our slide to socialism than immersed in it.

Scary thing is the US is probably more socialist than Canada at this point. We have Barrycare, 50% inheritance tax, huge capital gains tax etc. Then paying for the military industrial complex on top of it all starting wars, funding terrorists causing chaos everywhere on the planet to justify more military action.

so i'm at a dinner meeting with some of my more conservative colleagues (they're surgeons, it's expected) last night and I was surprised to find that none supported trump. one told me that a coworker had predicted months ago that Bernie would do well and he dismissed it out of hand. after talking to his Clemson attending kids who are also ostensibly conservative he was persuaded otherwise and had to apologize. last night he said that if he could pick from the three remaining candidates, fhe'd choose Bernie cuz he'd likely do less harm. amazing times we are living in. perhaps scary is the better word.

Lots of people on both sides believe aliens exist and Hillary even talks about area 51 disclosure if elected. What exactly is your point?
