The time tag on this article is this afternoon, but is it a leftover from April 1st?

Unknown 22-year-old who has played 5 football games in his life and was working in a warehouse signs with the Dallas Cowboys

Looks real, hope he makes especially with such a tragic beginning to his life.

Is he a TE or DE though?

Their Mike Jasper?

Every year a guy or two like this get shots. They rarely, if ever, pan out but it's not a totally crazy story. Dolphins getting a guy off wall street comes to mind as another example from the last couple years.

Looks like he has good size and athleticism. You can't coach that. Definitely worth a look and maybe they can mold him into a player. You know he is going to be hungry and you gotta love his attitude. He just likes hitting people!

Why the hell haven't the Bills signed any London warehouse workers? What is wrong with Whaley? The Bills front office is always behind the curve. This team is never going to be competitive until they get a franchise London warehouse worker!

After he gets cut CFL maybe? Indoor league? I think he'll have something open to him.

The 49ers signed some rugby player this year too.

The Bills have Chris Manhertz who has never played football.

I don't think that it is a bad strategy to take a chance on some guys that match up physically with top end NFL players. You try to cultivate those physical skills (like Jason Peyers) and if it doesn't work out (like Jasper) you let them go. It is much easier to teach someone a playbook than it is to teach them to be bigger, faster or stronger.

He's pedigree is a little more than "some" BTW.

We did try our own Northman experiment in 2000 Leif Larsen, the shot put turned football turned boxer, picked 5 spots before Brady...
