If Rex is so beloved and respected by his players then why did they quit on him lsst year? His undisciplined locker room was full of discontented players who were often publicly sniping at the staff and other players.

 

Clearly the Bills' players played harder for Marrone than the Jets' players did for the more loquacious Rex. Rex got fired after a 4-12 season while Marrone could have stayed after his 9-7 season if he chose to. In the two years that Marrone went head to head against Rex his team won three out of four games. Rex's record over the last two years was 12-20. Marrone's two year record for a team that was rebuilding when he took over was 15-17.

 

It's understandable why a lot of people don't like the dour former coach while they feel more favorable towards the more colorful and personable new coach. But don't let that bias make you ignore the reality that Marrone thoroughly outperformed the bombastic and tattooed coach from Jersey over the last two years.

Marrone also had significantly more talent on his roster. And you need to rewatch the Week 16 Jets v. Pats* game if you think his players quit on him. Despite popular belief, Win/Loss records have to do with significantly more parts than Coach and QB.

First off, Rex isnt putting the team together, Doug Whaley is. And while Im sure Rex and his staff will have some small input on player signings, this is still Whaley's 53-man roster.

 

The same Doug Whaley that has been building the team for the last 2 seasons, and has been helping build the team for the last 5 or so. And so far, those teams have had some pretty good chemistry. I doubt that finally getting a HC who is on the same page as our GM is going to cause more friction than what already existed previously when management was butting heads.

He's wildly inconsistent, except that he'll stump for whoever comes on his show or has a Syracuse connection. His over-the-top, contrived "broadcast voice" is ridiculously irritating. He's a poor man's Howard Cosell, without the intelligence or insight.

Are you not also going to point out the complete lack of support from Mgt to Rex Ryan, his horrible lack of talent on the team, and that losing tends to always cause this type of "sniping'

Marrone's team played hard for him all season long and the locker room stayed together in tough times. Rex's team regressed from the prior year while Marrone's team made strides from the previous year. Both coaches had very flawed and imbalanced rosters. It is indisputable that Marrone managed his team's limitations significantly better than Rex. If you don't believe me then review the record.

Details on Incognito's arrest on 3 charges of assault when he was in college:

 

Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said Incognito was issued three misdemeanor assault citations, while Miller was issued one.

Callahan wasn't available for comment, NU sports information director Chris Anderson said.

Beggs, citing police reports, gave the following account of the alleged assaults:

At about 1:25 a.m., Bradley J. Lingenfelter, 21, of Lincoln opened a bathroom door on Incognito and an unidentified woman at the party at the Claremont Parks Apartments complex.

Incognito pushed Lingenfelter down and Miller jumped on Lingenfelter and scratched his neck. Incognito then struck Lingenfelter in the face and slammed him into the wall.

Clayton Barnes, 21, of Denton, who was waiting in line for the bathroom, intervened and Incognito punched him in the face, knocking him unconscious.

As Incognito was leaving the apartment, he struck Elbert Northington, 29, of Lenexa, Kan., in the face and took his cell phone and threw it to the ground.

Police were called to the apartment, where they found several cartons of alcohol and a beer keg in the bathtub.

Beggs said Incognito denied assaulting Lingenfelter and Northington when police interviewed him. Reports showed no record of a statement from Incognito regarding Barnes.

Both Incognito and Miller were ticketed, Beggs said, but neither was taken to jail.

Beggs said he did not know if the assault victims were taken to the hospital.

John T. Fisher, and Christopher A. Myers, both 20, were cited for maintaining a disorderly household, as was Ryan J. Sukraw, 19, who also lived at the apartment where the party was held, Beggs said.

I didn't read past the second sentence - you do realize his 2014 roster was different than his 2013 roster...

 

And that idzik had TWELVE draft picks in 2014 and got virtually nothing?
