I own a nightclub and have to listen to it for 10 hours a day sometimes. If I didn't find a way to come to terms with pop music being tolerable I would have shot myself in the face by now. John from Riverside Posted January 29, 2015 Share Posted January 29, 2015 Keep Katy away from the Patriots' equipment manager. As for her singing, I have to say that she has a fine voice. She actually grew up singing in church and -- as far as I know and can tell -- is not like many, many other of today's singers who use that auto tune. She also is not known to lip sync like Britney Speers and many others have done in the Super Bowl and other events. I have to admit that, although I am a Beatles, U2, Doors, Led Zep etc. kind of guy, I do enjoy songs of hers that I have heard. I also enjoy them more when I can see her singing them. Peter, I know Katy Perry a little bit through my daughter (they would both sing at church events......my daughter and Katie met RIGHT before she had a big riff with her family who is extremely religious.....right before she came out with that "I kissed a girl" album. Stayed in loose contact up though this past year with my daughter.....and Katie has mended things some with her family. Katie is actually not a bad person at all.....to talk to her she is a pretty genuine person.....like all celebrities she has handlers so its tough to know that about her....but she is in fact cool people I have met celebrities that were complete a holes....she isnt one of them. Not that I avoid them but I just don't listen to pop music, and if someone else has it on I usually don't know who the performer is. (Bruno Mars is good, I have to say.) The only thing I remember about Perry is she showed up to tape a Sesame Street episode in a top the producers thought was too revealing, and they sent her home. Can she sing? I guess I'll find out. She can't be any worse than the Who a couple of years ago, way past their prime guys who used to be great but now are Who the %^%^& was THAT? In fairness, if Katy Perry was not a singer and just lets say, a pornstar, everyone would probably just agree that she's hot. But a few people had to get all, "ya know what, not only is she attractive but I really have a lot of respect for her... I really like her music; it speaks to me and helps me through stressful and emotional times in my life... In fact, it's what I listen to when I tailgate before Bills games."
