@JoeBuscaglia

More from #Bills Mike Williams, about being frustrated by finding out on Saturday as opposed to earlier:

I ask myself what Buscaglia is trying to accomplish by the line of questioning. Why is it so important for us to know that Mike Williams could have found out earlier in the week that he may not play? That is totally irrelevant. Is it an indictment of Marrone's competency regarding personnel decisions on some level? I don't think so. Marrone is entitled to every ounce of roster flexibility available. And Mike Williams' feelings to come into play here.

Marrone stated that it was KW's 11th hour availability and his desire to keep Gay available that prompted the decision. I think he's leaving out that they were also hoping Aaron Williams would be able to suit up and they were disappointed he couldn't which resulted in Ladler being activated for depth.

It's good that Mike Williams wants to play every snap. But he really should just STFU and work his ass off to make sure coaches have no reason to ever sit him again.

GO BILLS!!!

I will happily support Mike Williams in being pissed that he was benched in place of a Kickoff specialist that is involved in 3-4 plays a game.

See above.

Seems that Saint Doug has his favorites. I'm glad that Lee Smith & Chris Gragg are taking up valuable roster spots for their weekly screw ups, and then Orton needs to throw a high jump ball, his option is Goodwin. Way to play to the strengths of your roster, Doug.

well, that seems to put the 3rd TE story to bed.... or atleast that from here on its something else.

Caucci reported that MW (directly from MW) ran the scout team today: @viccarucci

#Bills WR Mike Williams says he worked scout team in practice today. Doesn't seem to bode well for him being active Sunday vs. #Vikings.

Or maybe MW screwed up. That would hardly be shocking. I know everyone wants to blame Marrone but Whaley has the final say on the actives and could say he plays over someone else, if he wanted to.

Then I imagine there would have been some contrition on his part. Obviously, one of these two is a very big liar.

Marrone is Parcells without the wins

Fans wanted a guy who ran a tight ship... well you got one!

St. Doug will tell you what kind of cereal he wants you to eat for breakfast, and if you ask him whether it's cool to add strawberries to it you go right to the bench as an example.

i cant imagine he has final choice on this any more than he does over starting qb, for instance.

wouldnt standard structure give the coach the call and unless something outrageous is happening the GM stays out?

A coach has favorites? Stop the presses!

There are things going on here that we probably won't know about for a while, if ever, but for whatever reason, MW is in the doghouse. Most definitely not one of Marrone's favorites, going back to their Syracuse days.

But I'll stand by my earlier assertion that Marrone's roster decisions, however unpopular, are within his purview as coach and I have little sympathy for players that need to wash this laundry in public.

I contrast this situation to McKelvin's when he was relegated to 3rd string CB a few years ago. What did he do? Instead of complaining, he focused on making himself a damned good special teams player. Never once complained publicly, just found a way to help the team. And while I'm impressed that MW says he'll be the best scout team player he can be, it rings hollow when he demands trades and airs his dissatisfaction to the press.

He may not think he did anything wrong. I don't know what happened, but let's speculate. Take a look at the lack of targets MW has had while he has been here. He is used to a much bigger role, but he isn't a starter here. Why isn't he a starter? Because he isn't one of the best 2 WRs on the team. He could have remained the #2 in TB, but he screwed up and got shipped out for a 6th rd pick. Now he's a #3-4 WR who doesn't contribute on ST, and he's pissed that he's not getting the ball. Understandable, but he can hold himself accountable for where his career is now. But he probably feels that someone else is accountable, right? Marrone, Hackett, EJ, Orton, whoever. And maybe he has had a crappy, me-first attitude about the lack of targets and Marrone doesn't want it around the team, especially on gameday. So "he's going to see how this week goes" in regards to whether he plays this week, but you know how its gone so far? Marrone and Whaley have had to answer media questions and calls about him wanting a trade. Those trade calls come all the time for players but they aren't public unless someone (agent) wants them public. So now its annoying and a distraction. So scout team it is. But its only Wednesday. Let's see if he gets it together by Friday and whether he gets some reps then.

But I'm just speculating.

And if you wear a funny t-shirt to the breakfast table lunch will be in San Francisco.

Not usually. The GM approves inactives and while they usually don't question them because the lines of communication are clear as to why the decisions have been made, if he wanted a healthy player to play he would have told him to find another guy to deactivate instead. However, I really don't know how the Bills do things specifically.
