TC fights, ineffectual play, is Marrone losing the team?

Recommended Posts

ZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING.

add this one to the

"best of twobillsdrive.com insults"

standing ovation bud, where do you come up with such cutting remarks?

Standing ovation? You shouldn't have! Wasn't too difficult.. I ready your post and was embarrassed for you.

What kind of fan wishes their team would go 0-16? Not a fan at all I'd say!

First time observer of training camp? There are fights on pretty much every team every year.

yeah i remember before 2009, when we fired avp from his oc job, there were many who thought "that would solve everything", and it was a step in the right direction for the season.

it's over man... it's over.

it's not just like these guys got into a shoving match in an isolated incident.

they've been fighting for weeks.

marrone has been imploring them not to.

they continue to fight.

marrone runs them into the ground and blows up at them.

hughes talks back at him.

we have a lame duck coach, an offensive coordinator who can't get the ball to our best weapons, a qb who can't read the field, and a division with tom brady.

let's start talking about 2015.

we'll be playing the nfc east

cowboys and giants at home, eagles and skins on the road

and the afc south

texans and colts at home, titans and jags on the road

finishing last in our division should also net us games against the browns and the raiders

assuming we have a new qb under center, and a good coach, that looks like a schedule that could legitimately yield a wild card.

WOW? Isn't this PRACTICE? I have never seen so many people write the season off before a game is played. It appears that many Bills fans may be under medicated. The Bills have one of the lowest penalized teams in the preseason and yet penalties are up by 44% over last year. I do not think the team or season is lost. I cannot imagine what would happen here is the Bills got shut out like the Niners in PRESEASON, EJ probably would have been burned at the stake.

I think there is some tension with the offense

The pressure on EJ has to be unbelievable. Everyone knows this team has a lot of talent, and its success or failure rests heavily on whether or not EJ can be a real NFL QB and make NFL throws on a consistent basis.

Plus there is no other option. Hackett also has to be feeling the pressure. The offense has been embarrassing.

"It doesn't mean anything" is a pathetic cop out. Lots of QBs look good when "it doesn't mean anything." Somehow the footballs don't care, and they find their way into guys' hands for TDs and big gains. You can either distribute the football to the open men or you cannot. Whether or not the game "counts" is really secondary.

Correction: He would have been tarred and feathered first.

Fights at Bears, Packers, Broncos, Cowboys, Eagles, Seahawks.

Follow OP logic and the seahawks are 2-14

Google "X Team training camp fight" and you will come up with some fight in that teams training camp.

The only problem is hughes mouth, which hopefully will subside once camp is over.

They have been very disciplined on the field so far. I don't see any issue with the practice stuff.

It's preseason, where the emphasis on winning is low. At least that's what I'm told on TBD. ;)

I'd be more interested in their discipline when the games actually count and if they go down to an opponent early. Still, it's amazing that a player like Jerry Hughes, with all of 1 decent NFL season, has no qualms criticizing the head coach in front of the whole team. Reading between the lines, if one guy feels that way it's likely there are others. That's not good.

Point is, it's one thing for a Tom Coughlin to run his guys. Even as the new HC for NYG he at least had been deep in the playoffs. But Marrone doesn't have that kind of track record and his act is not going over well. It's not just the Bills who need to eliminate the losing culture, it's the HC who needs to earn his reputation as well. And that remains to be seen.

agree to disagree. It's the HCs job to run the team and win games. Not to cater to the players. That creates soft players.

Btw, he isn't a hard a** all the time. He breaks them down when he needs to and then builds them back up. Urban Meyer does the same thing. Not sure why it is so crazy to see a coach with high expectations. The players need to change, not him.

JohnnyBronze has got to the be off his meds again- cut him some slack... In only 2-3 short months he has called himself a optimist, a pessimist, AND a realist....

Predicted 0-16, then 4-12, then 2-14...

Overreacts to every single aspect of the game....

Bipolar paranoid schizophrenia is a horrible thing, we should all be supportive of him in his time of need...

In all seriousness- if I ever want to commiserate with someone about how the sky is falling, the ship is sinking, and the world is ending, it's clear now that I can PM the OP...

OP is ridiculous. Have you ever even been on a team at any level? This is par for the course.

Yes Sir. You have to be disciplined at every level. Hughes can spout off but in the end the buck stop with Doug, and the players have to know that. These guys haven't won enough to effect Doug's job. This is a welcome change. And for the OP, get a grip dude. You sound like a Dolphin fan...

This team is out of control:

http://espn.go.com/n...lack-discipline

completely dressed down Hughes in front of the team. Wow. wow wow wow wow wow.

"Marrone lined players up on one sideline and ripped into them for fighting. At one point, defensive end Jerry Hughes talked back to Marrone, leading to more shouting from Marrone in Hughes' direction, questioning him about whether he wanted to stay on the team.

Players then ran sprints across the field in an apparent act of discipline.

Looking directly at Hughes, Marrone used several profanities in telling the player to stop complaining.

"Why can't you handle it as players?" Marrone yelled. He then motioned toward the locker room and said: "Do you want to play on this team?"

Once again looking at Hughes, Marrone said: "If you've got a problem with me, you need to come and tell me.""

Season appears to be spiraling out of control and it's not even week 3... OF THE PRESEASON!!!

truly unbelievable. Can't remember things being this much of a train wreck since we fired our OC (can't even remember his name now, AVP?) before week 1 of the 09 season, then promptly had our hearts ripped out by new england week 1 on mnf.

coincidently that season, we lost the hall of fame game, won our second preseason game, and then spiraled out of control for the final 3 preseason contests, with the offense looking terrible--blanked in the second to last preseason game, which led to the dismissal of the oc.

things are looking eerily similar--but come all ye faithful, tell me why we're going to go 11-5 this year.

actually, I'm going to adjust my win prediction from 4-12 to 2-14 right now.

offense: can't score any points

defense: lost it's 2 best players and only coordinator to have us playing good on that side of the ball since fewel

special teams: worst in the year last year, retained the coach, thinking about keeping a kick off specialist?

overall team: hates the coaching staff now, and must be wondering when the hell they can get out of buffalo, know marrone is a lame duck coach soon to be replaced by new owner, and their spot on the team is not a given.

train wreck city boys--train wreck city.

Over react much?
