I don’t see anything wrong with this at all...the girl has an expert trainer holding the gun and the girl for protection...plus she is probably learning about respect for the fire arm and safety as well...I actually think all young people should be taught this...👍

The thread asks the question, more or less?

As someone who lives outside thus culture my informed position and logic is this.

1. Guns have been part of the American culture, since muskets were part of Thanksgiving dinner with the pilgrims and native Americans.

1b. Hunting has always been cultural, and huge in recreation.

2. The new wave culture of gangs and drugs has adopted the same gun culture. Police forces are now equipped like military.

3. There is money in guns, in manufacturing, sales and clubs.

4. In a huge portion of the country where the old culture and new culture come in contact guns are usually part of the scene, whether at home, school, work or pleasure (sporting events, Vegas, Applebees, etc)

5. An attempt to remove these weapons from the public would create a revolution and civil war allowing for anarchy to rule. There can be no logic that is acceptable to the vast majority.

6. More is the ONLY possibility. The 12 yr old young gal learning the proper use of the weapon in a controlled environment is the answer so when she enters mainstream use, accidents are reduced. Just like a drivers license.

And this from someone who would not own a gun, at this point.

Curious why you would not own a gun?

I do not own a gun as I said in the last line.

I do not hunt, I have not felt threatened, carrying hand guns is not legal or at all common,  I do not target shoot, my parents never owned a gun even have returned from war, no one in my family owned a gun and I do not know anyone who ownes a gun except a long gun fir hunting deer or moose.

But as American gun culture as well as violent gang drug culture grows in Canada, particularly in border regions,  for protection of property and life that may be required one day. More and more we see house invasions etc. Guns are smuggled across daily for gangs both at crossings and thru Native reservations that span the border. So the future brings???.

I never owned a gun either.  Then we moved to Oakland and our house was broken in to.  We immediately got two guns.   @BillStime for some reasons thinks I own them to make me macho. I bought them because my wife insisted because she didn’t feel safe.  He, as usual, is wrong

Please explain how this will do anything to curb gun violence here in CA.   I’ll save you time. It won’t do a damn thing other than clog up the courts.

Half the reason why kids now days get involved in "Accidental shootings" is because while playing so many video games that shoot others & not actually learning the true power/effects of pulling the trigger on a real gun & it's consequences in some way because of not knowing think they can just hit the reset button & all will be back to normal to start again but by then it's to late .

That then add to it that true discipline today is now looked at as a bad thing it just exacerbates the problem ! Heaven forbid a kid get their a** busted for doing something wrong & if your in front of a liberal you might figure on having your kid taken away from you for disciplining them .

Oh johnny go sit in time out or he didn't mean to do it he's just having a bad day or if you don't stop i'll say stop it 4 more times then i'm taking away a toy . WOOPDY DOO welcome to modern day parenting  . .

I knew where every single one of my old mans guns were but i also knew that if by some chance i in any way got caught trying to play with them with out him present there would be holy hell to pay because guns are in no way a play toy !!

My dad took me out like this young girl & taught me by shooting a gun just how powerful they are & taught me the basic rules of handling a fire arm such as (#1 and most important)  you ALWAYS ALWAYS handle a gun like it's loaded !! 2 - You NEVER NEVER point a gun (like that num nuts lawyer did in the Ritenhouse trail) at any one or any thing 3 - you never pull the trigger unless you are pointed in a safe direction like a target or you plan to shoot & or kill wild game .

But there are those out there that have a difference of opinion on this topic and think the by them going to the store to buy their beef, pork & other meat products that this is more as it should be well to those i hope the S**T never hits the fan because you all are in a lot of trouble !!

You all can just sit back & wait for those like Biden to come save you but i'll b win the woods fending for myself & my family ...

My son in law which is a cop has taken both of my grand kids out and taught them how to shoot to show them exactly how powerful a gun is & has taken them hunting to again show exactly what happens when you decide to point a gun at something and pull the trigger .

And i would suggest to any parent that if you have a child that its into video games that shoot people for fun you take them to shoot a real gun so they know just ow powerful a gun truly is & that it isn't like a video game .

Which is something video gamers know nothing about it's just hit the reset & life is good --- NOT !!

Oh & by the way this is not sick it's called FIRE ARM EDUCATION !!

So by someone posting a picture or pictures of them with a gun to me just shows they have a opinion on guns and hold the second amendment in high regard as it should be ! I might add if that is looked at by others as glorifying a gun then thats yours or their prerogative .

Why aren't there more pictures of the thugs (I'm sorry not politically correct) known felons wielding guns before they got to others like Rittenhouse or other victims to show or tell what happened prior to the incident of them trying to beat him & take away his gun so they being the upstanding citizens they are could carry another fire arm illegally .

To put the Rittenhouse picture in there is just wrong the kid was defending himself IMO from Felons with guns that were in reality trying to take his gun & it was proven in a court of law so to continue to vilify him in that way because you may have a difference of opinion is just wrong & as bad as the cancel culture & other groups in this country . JMHO .

To end this reply guns are not bad they can't shoot people by them selves it's the people that carry the guns that either have bad intentions to start with or are not taught the proper way to respect & handle a fire arm along with the consequences of pulling the trigger of said fire arm that are the problem.

Fire arm education is a must in order to stop a lot of mishaps & a little discipline sure wouldn't hurt ...

So video games are to blame (maybe the creators of those games have a high regard for the Second Amendment) but images of the cult posing w their guns is irrelevant - got it.

You do realize video games are played all over the world… yet this country is close to the only place on earth where guns and death are out of control - got it.

As usual you once again are trying to twist my words to use to prop up your opinion ! I used the video game reference as a part or a pice of the problem not the entire problem but use it as you will.

As i stated Video games, lack of education,  lack of true Parenting, along with the lack of discipline being all part of that !

Then not to mention the liberal agenda that is to take away some the constitutional rights that we have by focusing on taking away guns from those that obey gun laws & then portraying those protecting them selves with guns and not telling the story & how they are the bad ones .

Leaving out the facts that the bad guys already convicted of crimes & because of these things should not be carrying guns but still break the law by doing so are the victims .

But again Billsy you continue to twist it what ever way you want to make your point look valid .

ZERO regard for the constitution???? Whose party pissed all over the constitution for the past 5 years and in the last year literally tried to destroy it you fascist.

You prove daily that you’re not very bright.

Sounds like you need to leave America because it’s clear you do not like democracy and what makes America America. Your party is all about the faux outrage - destroying books - fake news - suppressing the right to vote and hating on anyone not white - straight and male…

You *hate* America and it shows.

It's only going to benefit the lawyers.

So....let's debate the issue.

In your mind how will this reduce the gun violence here in California?

What percentage of gun violence in California was committed using a) assault rifles or b) a gun built with a ghost gun kit?  Do you have any idea?

Assault weapons ain't the problem Billy Boy.  The government and the media want you to think they are but they are waaaaaay down the list of weapons used in the commission of violent crimes.

So how will Newsom's proposal reduce gun violence in CA?

If you cannot answer that question I suggest you either put me on ignore or you stop responding to me because I'm going to bring it up incessantly until you have an adult discussion regarding this important topic.

The armpit where the rest of the country is moving to, interesting theory. I am not sure if I want to meet you, if you are a nice guy it would make this less entertaining, but I I was there also.

NY AG: I'll "create" a law for suing gun manufacturers like Newsom's

james-guns-450x257.jpg

How does Letitia James demagogue on gun control in this 92-second clip? Let us count the ways. Following Gavin Newsom’s lead in California, the Attorney General of New York tells The View that she has her office working on crafting a law that will allow private citizens to sue gun manufacturers and sellers, just as Texas passed targeting abortion providers. “This is a first,” James declared.”

Shall we review all the ways in which it will be a last?

Let’s start with some basic civics. Who writes the laws in our form of government? Why, that task belongs to legislature, not the executive branch! And to which branch of government does the AG belong? I’ll give you a hint — it rhymes with shmegistature. As AG, James can no more “create a law” than any other citizen in New York. The Texas law on which this proposal is modeled was passed in the state legislature.

Technically, that constrains Newsom in California as well. Governors can informally propose legislation, and in the Golden State and its veto-proof Democratic supermajorities, such a proposal would theoretically pass, although the radical step that it takes might lose enough non-LA/San Francisco legislators to get tanked. If Kathy Hochul tried it in New York, Democrats might be able to squeak it through, but one suspects that the upcoming red-wave midterms would likely make them much less willing to try it … especially just one year after Andrew Cuomo’s scandalous run came to its ignominious end.

But even then, it’s a waste of time in two separate ways. Gun manufacturers’ immunity from lawsuits is partly based on federal legislation (the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act), which would tend to crowd out any state efforts. However, it’s also based firmly on common law regarding liability. Manufacturers can be held liable for fraud and for product defects (as well as knowingly supplying weapons for use in crimes), but outcomes from the use of firearms that operate properly are not the liability of the manufacturer or seller, just as it isn’t for cars, to use one example. Courts have centuries of American and English common law on liability that would restrict such efforts as James and Newsom propose, at either the state or federal level. Congress passed the PLCAA to end nuisance suits intending to put manufacturers out of business by “lawfare,” not because the manufacturers needed it to avoid actual liability.

Second: the right to keep and bear arms is an enumerated right, explicitly protected by the US Constitution, and now fully incorporated after Heller and McDonald as an individual right. As courts held even before Heller, that right includes the ability to manufacture and sell firearms and ammunition. Lawsuits intended to shut down the exercise of that right will fail every time, with the exceptions of defect and fraud in specific instances.
