Holy cow! Kiper mocks Mack at #1

TPS

Recommended Posts

Mayock also thought that the Texans should take him (hasn't done his mock yet). Mack is going to be an absolutely great player IMO. I don't think that I would take him over Clowney but other than that he is right there with Robinson and Watkins. He is a complete player with a high floor and a high ceiling, in addition to being scheme diverse.

Can you post the mock instead of a link that doesn't show anything without being a member

1. Mack--Hou

2. Robinson-STL

3. Clowney-Jax

4. Bortles-Cl

5. Bridgewater-Oak

6. Matthews-Atl

7. Watkins- TB

8. Manziel- Min

9. Lewan-Bills

10. Evans-Det

If Watkins is available at 6, I think that's a trade up possibility for the Bills.

I hope he gets the top payday but he looked average against San Diego State

One game shouldn't dictate his future, I am an SDSU alum and the entire offensive game plan was predicated on minimizing Macks impact. I think his play vs Ohio State is more indicative of his talents.

espn's Kiper did 3 rounds for each and added the following caveats:

1. At each slot, I make a pick in the best interest of only the team with the pick. I won't pass on a player at No. 5 just because I like how he fits better at No. 7.

2. There are no trades. I note team needs, but not all picks are specifically to hit a need -- same as the draft.

3. This is NOT A PROJECTION. It's more a look at how I currently value players at each slot.

I am responding only to protest the use of the term holy cow.

Also, no to Lewan.

What don't you like about Lewan? I'm curious because I felt the same way until I personally started digging into him - and now I like him a lot, in fact more than Matthews at this point (for me).

I have a question: if you had any idea Mack would go this high would you have gone to UB games?

I did and I did go to one because of it. It was so boring we left at halftime. While they are developing a better program, they are still not even close to "there" yet.

The atmosphere there is just horrible. It is like your at a funeral. I blame it on 2 things. First that stadium sucks. Whoever designed that stadium had to be an idiot. I realized it was designed for the Empire Games or whatever but come on. Everybody is so far away from the field it is really not possible to generate any noise. 2nd I blame the atmosphere on the student body. Honestly, UB has what 20-25,000 undergrads there & the student section could only fill that little corner by the goalline. What is with the students not showing up? I remember a game a few years ago the year they won the MAC Championship. There was a Tuesday night game, late in the season, Veterans Day, I forget who they were playing, I think it was either Ohio or Ball St, not sure, but the winner took control of the East division, it was a beautiful night out(for November) temps were in the high 50's that night, no rain, I took my son to the game. When I got home from work I was like let's leave early I think this place is going to be packed tonight. Espn was there to add to the excitement. I get there & to my disappointment it was the same 5,000 fans there you see every other game. If Iam a student I would of been all over going to that game. tailgating all day & then heading over to the game. The student body @ UB sucks when it comes to supporting their athletics. I hate to be racial about this but I think a lot of it has to do with all the foreigners that come up from NYC who all they care about is getting a free ride to UB & would never consider taking a night away from their precious studies to actually support the school that they go to.

I watched that Ohio State game on TV, and if I knew then what I know now, probably not...

WR is a top need, and LB is not??? I highly question that. We only have Spikes guranteed for a year and I'm not totally sold on Rivers from what he has done so far in the NFL. I would love to find a stud LB in the draft that can help us for the next 10 years. I think our lack of WR production was because two of the guys were rookies, along with 3 QB's throwing to them who were very green and lacked NFL experience. We picked up a Vet in Wiiliams, Stevie should be healthy and the two rookie wideouts who are loaded with potential have a year now under their belt. I honestly think most will find out this year that we are loaded with talent at the wideout position and it is not a TOP need.
