and yet chan had them go 4-4 the second half, which was a pretty remarkable turnaround

Chan Failey (.319 with Bills, .418 overall) has yet to reach Rich Kotite's (.417) level of success with the Bills. Another loss this weekend, and he'll be below Kotite in career winning percentage. Remarkable turnaround from Jauron indeed.

This is the Ralph Wilson way:

1. Ralph, worried about ticket sales, will listen to the fans and call for Gailey to be fired.

2. Nix will refuse because he already said Chan stays. Nix does not want this job anyway, it is getting too hard.

3. Ralph will get pissed at the lack of loyalty and will fire Nix for not carrying out the order.

4. Ralph will consult with Brandon and Littman. Brandon will save his ass in a stroke of genious by recommending the promotion of Whaley to "keep continutiy". Wilson will be relieved because "at least he knows who Whaley is".

5. Littman will be happy because Whaley will not cost a lot. Ralph and Littman will further be happy as they will not replace the Assistant GM role, saving even more money. Ralph will be thankful to have a smart guys like Brandon and Wittman on the staff and give them each a raise.

6. Whaley will do what Wilson wanted and fire Gailey.

7. Whaley will not get full say on hiring the next coach or on the draft. By June he will be wondering how long he can this job.

8. Wash, rinse, repeat ...

Agreed. Ralph Makes the final call on this. Let Ralphie know you're mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore!!!

Gailey is about to be shown up by a CLOWN HC in Ryan, A JUNK OC in Sparano, and a ROOKIE BACKUP in Greg McElroy,

This should come in handy.

Gamegoers chant: GAY-LEE SUCKS!.... GAY-LEE SUCKS!.....

I think your first 6 points are very likely.

I hope your last two points aren't but I'm not gonna make any predictions on that.

Another coach that was brought back for a 4th try was Romeo Crennel in Cleveland. Of course, in his 3rd year, the Browns went 10-6, so there was some evidence things were headed in the right direction. Jim Schwartz falls in the same boat with the Lions, going 10-6 in his 3rd year (last year).

On the other hand, it isn't easy to find re-tread head coaches like Gailey that have been given a real long leash to foul it up. Kotite only got 2 years with the Jets. Mangini only 2 with the Browns. Dom Capers did get 4 with the Texans, but both of his gigs were literally with expansion teams, so not sure how comparable that is...

everything Clayton reports seems to be him speculating then actual insight...he is basically the weatherman of NFL reporting leaving himself enough room to be right either way without being definitive

for the record i will boycott Bills games next year if Gailey is still the head coach

According to John Clayton of ESPN, he thinks its a better then 50% chance the Bills keep Gailey as HC.

"In the AFC East, disappointing seasons by Rex Ryan with the New York Jets and Chan Gailey of the Buffalo Bills could cost them their jobs, but there is better than 50 percent chance they will stay."

http://espn.go.com/n...oaching-changes

Lets not forget that Buddy Nix stated Chan is his HC for 2013 and perhaps longer, so if Nix stays, then so does Chan.

All these posts speculating who the new HC or GM might be could be moot unless Ralph Wilson makes a decision after the NY Jets game. The fans that want change need to make a statement and stay away from this game or wear paper bags :bag: Let Ralph Wilson know you are NOT happy and will not be buying season tickets unless changes are made.

If Chan Gailey and Buddy Nix signed 5 year contracts it could be difficult for this owner to make a change after this season! 2 more years of this ....

PS TT tweet about "its on like a mofo" might be about something other then a HC / GM change.

Eh, what does Clayton know, he thought for sure the Bills were making the playoffs with our easy schedule. ( not dissing your post, just Clayton)

OP is right. Ralph has to make the call. Buddy wont fire Chan. That's his guy. If that's the case Mr. Wilson is going to have to fire them both.

I see it like this. Ralph is I hope as least pissed about how the season went down and rightfully so. Somebody has to take the fall.

Fans should worry about Buddy's save his ass speech. If he convinces Ralph that all we need is a better QB for Chan's system and another WR to go with him than yea its 50/50 Chan stays.

But no matter what I think Wanny is gone. I think he is the fall guy and they should get rid of him because he has enough talent to not be the worst team on D in Bills history.

Your a good egg Joe

- I think Chan is just married to the fact that he is going down with HIS QB.......and thinks he can overcome his physical limitations with schemes, smoke, and mirrors........the fact that a 3000 yard passer in TJ (with a bad throwing shoulder and horrible OL) isnt good enough to even be looked at on a team that cant throw deep. As the season slipped away from us I was more and more glad he didnt get the opportunity to win meaningless games and ruin our draft position.....which might be one of the FEW selling points (a good draft pick) to sell to getting a decent incoming HC

- We have a RB that is averaging over 6 yards a carry and got to 1000 yards with a ridiculously few amount of carries for the year........and Chan couldnt figure out how to use him.....then when he does run him and defenses gang up to stop him......we have a QB that coulldnt throw deep to take advantage of it to save his life.

- I wonder if Chan is still afraid to peak into the defensive team meetings......way to go their Chan.

They have shown a tendency to pick the wrong athletes in the draft. Whether or not Gailey stays, you gotta wonder about taking Troup in front of Gronkowski, and Aaron Williams in front of Andy Dalton. And somehow he was able to choose the underachiever in the 2011 draft with Marcel Dareus surrounded by 4 Pro Bowlers on either side of his pick. Nix is a good ole boy, and his high-pitched twang and self-knowing nods and winks should go.

What are you talking about? When he started his Bills tenure by going 0-8? By finishing his first year at 4-12? By trading away first round picks for 4th rounders? You are as delusional as Chan Gailey. If Gailey returns I'll find another team to watch next year. I've had enough of these idiots.

But they removed the TVs from the weight room!

Side comment: The next staff will probably put them back in an effort to keep the players in there longer.

You make a great point about what teams need to do to try and stop Spiller. Spiller is so good, defenses have to load the box and move safties up. If the Bills had a quarterback that defenses respected, Spiller might be even better than he already is. Fitz rarely makes a defense pay for overplaying the run. It probably explains why Gailey has not used Spiller as much as he should. He sees what defenses are doing and wants to exploit them. He sees the opportunities to make big plays on defenses that overplay the run. What he doesn't seem to want to admit, is that his quarterback cannot do it. I think if this team had a Peyton Manning running the offense, it would be hard to stop them. The offensive line, when not injured, is plenty good enough. Maybe the recievers need an upgrade, but it seems obvous that the real weakness is quarterback.

If you ever have the opportunity to listen to John Clayton on WGR each week, you will realize he does not have the slightest idea about what is happening with the Bills. He offers no more insight than someone reading a message board.

Yeah I've lisened to him several times on WGR and he 's out of the loop. I don't think he has watched enough Bills games. I believe Chan is gone.
